Yeah there's no way they'd cast someone with darker skin and then proceed to bleach it. Fox really don't need that kind of negative publicity.

I don't really care what colour Domino is, it's Deadpool's movie. Besides, he could have a lot of fun with it.

This is JLaw as Mystique again you don't change the character to make the actress happy you hire an actress willing to do the character justice so now its DINO aka Domino In Name Only Reynolds first major **** up here

Yes. Zazie has full control of her appearance... :whatever:

Girl probably hasn't even seen the script.

Who accepts roles without having some idea of what they are gonna go through for the movie ? No doubt they are given a run down otherwise they eventually leave because of "creative differences" & they are fairly quiet on that aspect of the character & this is FOX after all so its not beneath them either

Who ****ing gives a **** what colour skin Domino has? Is her skin colour an essential part of the character? Not really, no.

It's like the black Heimdall thing all over again.

At the end of the day Reynolds and Co respect the source material but they also know that these movies are still adaptations and some things can be different. If this girl blew every one away with her audition and nailed the personality of Domino... why complain about something as unimportant as skin colour?

I think some of you melts are forgetting where this franchise was just 4 years ago. It was on the Hollywood scrapheap. So be grateful you've got a fantastic Deadpool franchise that is actually being run by people who give a **** about the character and his mythos.

^ NAILED it!

Also, aren't those pictures of Zazie as Domino part of the old concept art which featured Brad Pitt as Cable? They could very well take her appearance in a different direction.

Again the performance is what matters the most but that design for Domino just isn't that impressive and the comic version looks a lot cooler. There are plenty of ways around the makeup if they are terrified of giving her the completely unnatural chalk white like a lighter blue or a more grey tone etc. Doesn't matter who plays her, they can do much better then that on the overall makeup and costume. There is nothing really accurate at all here.

Why is anyone shocked that Domino fans want to see her signature looks? It's no different from people wanting a comic accurate Deadpool or any other character.

Domino is a full on mutant with an unnatural albino look. That unnatural skin color doesn't represent her being Caucasian or anything else other then she's a mutant and was part of experimentation. So yeah I'd say her looks are important due to her being a mutant and a test subject while the color of the actresses skin is completely irrelevant.

This concept design just feels lazy and pretty much a ripoff of Misty Knight. Not Neena.

Actually yes. Domino is an albino with concrete grey skin. That's like a Nightcrawler who has green fur instead of blue.

Don't know why everyone gets worked up over concept designs, they're just concepts. Everything can change.

Seriously cut the dramatics.

Cause it's all that's up there. Nothing new. Fans do the same thing with every character, remember Apocalypse? Be it toys, merch, comics, cartoons etc everyone usually comments on this stuff. Especially with major blockbusters of fan favorite characters, and with Neena she is the female lead of X-Force.

There'd be a bigger issue if fans were not discussing it. Pretty sure these were not accidental leaks.

Now the few ridiculous complaints against the actual actress are 100% inappropriate. IMO that concept art is pretty disappointing IF that's what we get though. That of course is not to say the character still can't be bad ass but even the white eye patch I think this is just a poor choice. Her skin is light brown and it would still be a heavier and noticeable contrast to make the eye patch pure black.

Not the end of the world but personally I expected more of an effort from this team given the previous film. But hey who knows.

Yeah I'm with you on that. The biggest fear I have with Miller's departure is the aesthetics. Tim Miller is a big comicbook fan and it showed in Deadpool.

I'm sure Leitch will do a good job directing Deadpool 2 but it probably won't be as faithful to the source material, at least aesthetically.

Speaking of which, Leitch was just talking about Deadpool 2 and said it would have more action. That's cool.

I wonder how many DP fans on here have had a chimichanga?

Colossus was in generic black leather like the X-Men films. Nothing special.

His portrayal was what sold it.

Negasonic's x-men costume? Colossus?

Generic af compared to Deadpool's costume

No costumes for

Ajax
Copycat

Deadpool's my second favorite X-Men movie (after Logan also generic af) but the costumes weren't perfect. The sequel should be perfect though

That's what I meant. That all came from Miller wanting to do it that way.

I don't think the sequel will necessary do better on adapting more outlandish elements of the comics to screen - that's just the nature of adaptations. (Though it surprised me when Mangold had considered putting freakin' Bonebreaker of all things in Logan)

But that's fine, as long as the portrayals are on point, and with Ryan, Rhett, and Paul, I feel like it's a safe bet to make.

Copycat isn't even acknowledged to be a mutant let alone a member of any of the teams.

Stripping away all her comic book powers and looks is an example of Deadpool not being accurate outside of the main character.

Amazing movie but outside of Deadpool and Colossus CGI/Fighting/Accent the movie isn't very "comic book accurate" imo. But it's better than every X-Film besides Logan imo so I'm not hating on it.
