Then it's completely justified that Vanessa isn't explicitly stated to be a mutant in the movie because that isn't brought up in -1 either.

Bingo

There was no reason from a comic accuracy standpoint that Nessa should be Copycat at this point in Deadpool's story. It didn't happen in the comic and wasn't necessary in the film either for this particular story.

We know the writers want to introduce her as Copycat so rather she has been a mutant the whole time or she turns later has yet to be seen. If the film continues to follow the comics, this relationship is gonna get shaken up pretty bad. Having Wade discover she's a mutant was never really shown in detail through the comics so the film has a chance to actually fill in the gaps. Which could be alot of fun and add more depth to their relationship.

I don't really want it to follow the comics closely. I liked the two too much in the first movie.

I just want to say that, as someone who is reading early X-Force, their relationship in that story sucks. I prefer the movie version infinitely more.

There's a lot from the comics you can use and improve in the movies. The relationship between Wade and Vanessa is a perfect example. Or T-Ray, who I think is a kick-ass foe, but got bogged down by a subpar storyline (the whole identity schtick could be left out), or even Wade's voices could make for great material, but of course only with a better writer than Daniel Way. And there's lots of other stuff from the comics where you could take the basic ideas and make them work for good.

Which is, by the way, something Tim Miller mentioned when talking about the sequel, and one of the many reasons why I was pretty upset about his departure. He's very well versed in both comic books AND what it takes to bring the material to the big screen and make it work as a satisfying movie.

I couldn't be happier about David Leitch in the director's seat, but for me Tim Miller was an anchor to hang on.

Yep pretty much. That relationship was never explored in depth. It ends pretty quickly after Deadpool-1 and then they are rivals and [BLACKOUT]then she gets murdered by Sabretooth. [/BLACKOUT]

Deadpools main love interest in the comics that is a shown and developed is Siryn. Not so much Nessa.

Not saying it does. need to but it followed the comics pretty closely. From an origin perspective things need to be added regardless. They got the essentials and added what was needed to make a cohesive story.

I wonder if we will get Siryn in Deadpool 2. Likely not. More likely we got in Deadpool 3.

To me the obvious (yet inspired) choice would have been Shane Black, but they may have asked him and he turned it down or couldn't schedule it. The thought is Leitch will bring the action chops, but Black could do some really great stuff with DP and Cable.

After that Leitch directed short, I'm more than relieved on what I thought his limitations were. I'm ecstatic for this twisted take on DP.

Hmm.. I'm thinking an early August 2018 release date now. Pretty packed year.

In movies Vanessa and Angel Dst are not born mutant whereas in comics they are mutants

They could easily have Vanessa be born a mutant, if they want to.

I-m hoping T Ray will make an appearance.

I'm thinking with Cable, Domino, Colossus etc there will be a fairly dangerous villain or threat in this one. Stryfe or Sinister level.

Cable alone is extremely powerful. Telekinesis and Telepathy pretty much own everyone. Will be interesting how and why he is introduced. They could do something with Wade ****ing up the future, but still I think they will need a big threat to introduce him properly.

Cable doesn't really use telepathy or telekinesis. He spends too much of his time keeping the techno-organic virus at bay with his powers that he can't use it for anything else.

I still stand by my belief that Deadpool's tone supports a smaller villain. I'd love Juggernaut and Black Tom Cassidy, for example. Stryfe and the MLF absolutely need to be saved for an X-Force movie.

Yea I don't think this Cable will have his God like telepathic/telekinetic abilities.

Reynolds is a huge fan of the Cable Deadpool series, that's where he discovered Deadpool. And Nate definitely uses his heavy power set there. I can see him being limited and held back at first like the comics, but I don't think he is gonna be stripped of all that.

Black Tom and Juggernaut make sense, that's been my choice for villains for awhile but I don't think they are gonna under power everyone on X-Force. There are alot of good guys in this one who are either very powerful or are pretty much top notch in the combat and fire arm dept. They are gonna need equally matched rivals and likely a threat powerful enough to destroy the future. Deadpool and Cable alone are some of heaviest ass kickers in Marvel comics.

Nice to see them use a Girls Aloud song for the decoy title.

Filming begins June 19th and is scheduled to wrap on October 5th. It will shoot under the name "Love Machine".

Wow, much longer than the first movie's two-month schedule.

Well, I’m sure the production budget for Deadpool 2 is bigger than the first film. My guess is the budget is around $90 – 100 million.
