rt is just the percentage of people who thought it was okay (3/5 or better). The average rating gives a better indication of the movie's quality, which is sitting at 7.8/10 right now.
7.9 ;)

Blade X you haven't even seen the film. A PG-13 rating would not have been the same movie and probably would've ruined it.

Here's a quote from that review.

Yeah, just like I figured. And this is one (but not the only) of the reasons why I think that this movie should have been rated PG-13. I think (and I could be wrong) that if the DP movie is a hit (which I think it will be), an R rated sequel will not do as well since the novelty of the R rated content would have worn off after the first movie. It would be like Daffy Duck's greatest act in that old Bugs Bunny cartoon.

I think that review is saying the opposite of what you're saying. It's basically saying that, but for the R-rating, it would seem bland and unoriginal and, even with the R-rating, it doesn't feel fresh all the way to the end. I don't see how making the exact same film PG-13 would be an improvement, based on that review.

I can't link it 'cause it contains the F-word, but there's a pretty cool interview with Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller in the announced 'bar setting,' where they're also playing darts.

Just search "DEADPOOL interview with Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller (Uncensored)" on YT.

Loved the casual reveal of the dart board. :funny:

I've seen interviews with that host before and he started each of them out with "I'm a big fan of how movies are made" and then goes into the question. Lol.

Hence why the movie should have been PG-13.

I give major props and respect to Ryan Reynolds for fighting for this movie to get made. However, none of that means that him pushing for the movie to be R rated was the right creative and business decision.

Seems to me like you are far more concerned with this film making money than the actual quality of the film.

The "children all over the world" line cracked me up the first time.

Going to see it on Wednesday. Can't wait. Will like avoid this section until then though.

I think the sequel to do better financially would do well to be PG-13 with an R home release version

If this is successful enough to warrant a sequel, it won't be PG-13. And it shouldn't be. You don't just completely water it down for a sequel.

For this movie to be PG-13, it would have to basically be a completely different movie.

Why does anyone over 17 care that this movie should be rated pg-13 especially if it still makes money with an R rating?

There actually used to be R rated blockbusters back in the day, I'd like to see Hollywood bring them back.

Same. And I hope Deadpool will pave the way for them!

^Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Joe Kelly's run was definitely R Rated i'd say. If only for the abuse Blind Al gets. You couldn't do a story about a psychotic mercenary torturing a blind old lady by locking her in a box full of sharp objects in a PG-13 film. Simple as. This isn't even talking about how Typhoid Mary raped him and countless other things.

If Kelly's DP run was R rated, then the book would have been labeled "FOR MATURE READERS". The book was a CCA approved all ages comic.

The whole concept of Deadpool is R Rated.

If the concept for DP is rated R, then so is the concept for Boba Fett.

This issue of Wolverine was from 1994. Deadpool pretty visibly kebabs Wolverine in this issue not unlike how he does to a thug in this film.

I'm not sure why a select few are so fixated on this film being rated R and whining about how kids can't see it. Deadpool is a dark, violent character. It doesn't really matter if his comic is approved for all ages. The character is known for the edgy circles he is depicted in, especially recent years.

Deadpool is a mercenary and an antihero. He kills people for a living. Whether his comic is for all readers or not, he's not really a "nice" character. He shouldn't really be a role model for kids.

Why would a Boba Fett movie need to be rated R?

He's nowhere as gory, vulgar or crude as Deadpool.

Boba Fett barely even talks. What kind of comparison is that?

I feel like anyone wishing that this was PG-13 simply is too young and can't go to the theater. Too bad. Enjoy the other 5 CBMs coming out this year.
