I say they compromise.
NICOLAS CAGE IT IS!
NICOLAS CAGE IT IS!
Tom Hardy and Karl Urban were my first choices.
There's literally nothing to talk about with Deadpool 2 so I hardly think this is overreacting. We all want the creative team to get who they think is best, not the studio who didn't even have faith in these characters till about a year ago. Doesn't matter if this happens all the time, I don't think that will change the discussion.

If Cable was in Deadpool, Fox would have been very involved. He isn't a supporting character but an A-list mutant and he could have a crucial role in X-Men Universe. So, Cable casting could be a very long procedure but it isn't a bad thing. Kyle Chandler or not, Miller will probably cast someone he likes.
Disagree with this. Cause even if Deadpool only made $250m and no X-Force film was being made Cable was still gonna be here, as a costar to Deadpool. If Fox knew Cable was an A list money maker on screen, then X-Force, a Cable solo, Cable Deadpool and previous X-Men films would have been released with him quite sometime ago. This is almost a 17 year old franchise and they have had time. Instead they canceled X-Foce years ago in favor of Apocalypse. Without trying to make things work together. I don't doubt someone like Donner is aware, but not the higher ups. And why should the higher ups have known back then, their job prerequisite is not to be a geek. Here's what the higher ups do know, buzz words and money. Cable, X-Force and Deadpool are now all those things in this studios eyes. That wasn't the case long ago.
Fox didn't know what was up till very recently when people on the internet started talking about X-Force and the reaction of his name in Deadpool. Fox didn't even know Deapdool a character who has sold and trended more then a majority of Marvel characters for quite sometime who is far and I mean far more popular then Cable should get his own movie. It took years of convincing. Fox knew Reynoldswas good for the role, and most of the X-Men casting is fantastic and not based off star power. That happens later.
Everything is not the same as last year in terms of studio interest for this property. That just isn't possible with the amount of money this made for the studio, and IF (with heavy emphasis) those rumors are true and Fox already passed on Tim Millers choice likely before any heavy screen tests even happened then yeah, that's disappointing. And not exactly the first piece of news I or I'm sure many fans would like to hear after this creative team just made Deadpool their most profitable property.
It's not gonna be any of these fanboy faves, I can pretty much guarantee that. It will be some actor none of you suspected and half of you will at first be like, "I don't see it." Right now you're just picking dudes who have done action before and look like square jawed hero types.
I understand but i think it's more complicated. Fox listen the main creative (Donner, Kinberg, Singer) and decide what they will do. The current team (Emma watts, Jim Gianopulos) are more ambitious than Rothman. Call me optimist but i think Donner and Co told to Fox the importance of Cable and it s why X-Force was in development. But the problematic is more about planification and coordination with the main X-Men franchise.
In a certain way, FC trilogy delayed the expanded universe because DOFP rebooted everything. Just imagine the chaos if Deadpool was released before Days of future past. Yeah, they canceled Jeff Wadlow's X- Force because of Apocalypse but you don't think Reynold team aren't happy about that? His X-Force would affect their potential Deapool 2 script and recently we learned he worked on his own Deadpool movie. You could think there were some concurencie between Reynold 's team and Wadlow.
IMO, Jeff Wadlow version just didn't fit in their current plan. After SS and BVS, we know is better to build a universe than rush. Now, FC trilogy is over and Wolverine is the last Jackman film, it 's the perfect time to introduce Cable and make X-Force.
The big question what Stacey Snider (new boss) think about that.
hearing that CABLE contract would likely include #Deadpool2 #Deadpool3 an #XForce trilogy and other #XMen films..multiple picture deal

what i like about Chandler is he will play the perfect straight man to deadpool he plays those roles very good
i feel guys like neeson and especially Lang would try to play this role too overly rough and tough
It is little overreacting when it is a natural process in casting decision. I don't particularly want Liam Nesson but i can't deny he is one of fan favorite for Cable with Stephan Lang and Ron Perlman (too old). He is in every top best actors to play Cable in internet. El Mayimbe posted a manip with Nesson and the reponses were very positive.
So i can't understand why they want him while i am not fan. He is a A list actor and some fans wants him like Benedict Cumberbatch (Strange), Christian Bale (Batman), Brie Larson (Captain Marvel). Anyway, Nesson want to quit action movie and Miller don't like him.

My pick: Joel Edgerton, 42 years old
