Angel Dust, or Morlocks were not in the original script but Colossus was, so I wonder if the female lead they're casting for is still Vanessa. I know Domino and Siryn have both been suggested.

A lot of Colossus' comedic value in the animated series partly came down to the Russian accent for me, hopefully it still translates without it if they go with Cudmore.

Nessa is too crucial for Deadpools origins so I don't see them getting rid of her here, any other female casting would probably be in addition.

I'm thinking maybe Angel Dust is a replacement for some of the Workshop villains. She's more interesting then a few they had there, and probably cheaper on the VFX side of things.

Yeah, plus we already got the shortlist of those actors up for that part.

Probably not coincidence that Angel Dust and Colossus both have Super Strength too. Better rival for him to go against later in the flick .

It remain possable Gina Carano got the female lead the others were mentioned for.

Daniel Cudmore's comments suggest he may be returning he just can't say it till they are ready to annouce it.

Angel Dust is not the female lead though. That's Vanessa, Wades love interest. The other actresses were said to be for the female lead.

Cool for Cudmore is he actually gets a decent role out of this. I like the implication that this is present day too. I don't want to be stuck in the 80's after Apocalypse.

Hopefully Colossus finally gets the respect he deserves. It's been a while since I read the script (and I sadly haven't finished it), how big was Colossus' role in it? I'm pretty sure he had at least more than 1 line in it.

Yeah,[BLACKOUT] he has a big encounter with Wade on a freeway trying to lead him to be be one of the good guys. That leads to a big brawl. Then he fights along side Wade through the end battle.[/BLACKOUT] It's a decent sized supporting role. Much more so then any of the other X-films. Alot of lines in his scenes, and he's in solid character while retaining the brutality of his powers.

Think all that is known at this point is that it's shooting in vancouver, they have 2 months in north Shore Studios and the working title is "Wham!".

Really happy that Cudmore is getting some love. It will be cool to see Colossus do more than punch stuff for once. Carano can pull off a physical role but she hasn't done anything to impress me in terms of her acting ability. A role in which she simply punches stuff would actually be fine with me haha.

But we shall see.

You may have to, as I am a bit confused as how including a character that isn't even a well know Morlock as potentially tieing into the other movies. It is hardly surprising that there are other mutants in this film.

The script has always been set in the present. But Deadpool does require flashbacks. He doesn't age and is part of Weapon X so he can show up anytime if other films want to use him.

There is really no reason for his own film to be in the past.
