Price isn't a problem. I'll check all those out. Thanks guys!

Definitely Deadpool classics like Endless mentioned. Some other good ones are:
-Suicide Kings
-Cable Deadpol volumes
-Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender
-The Good, The Bad and The Ugly by Duggan

If he likes the more zany Deadpool stuff then Wolverine: Origins vol 5 by Daniel Way is a good choice. Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe is really popular.

Weird, wonder if that's why it went to two channels.
I second all these things. I've actually enjoyed this current volume quite a bit especially when compared to the second half of Daniel Way's Run.

Yeah, the first half of Way's run gets a bad rep due to the later stuff. Some pretty funny moments in the earlier issues especially with Bob.

Duggans current run has been top notch for the most part.

The quality of the photos are bad, but I can see it working:

It is. I honestly never thought this film would be made. Especially not in the way they are making it. Completely embracing the character.

Yeah, it's a Deadpool fanboy's dream come true. The people behind this deserve all the love. I hope the finished product is awesome as well.

Nice that they're doing on location stuff.

:dpl:

After XM:A, with the exception of possibly watching Wolverine 3, I had no intention of watching further Fox comic movies like Gambit, Deadpool, or further X-movies after Apocolypse in the theaters and was going to wait for Bluray on those (except and FF movies which I'm not going to watch at all in any form) but the little bit they have now shown on Deadpool has changed my mind for that film. I HAVE to see this in the theaters now and in VERY intrigued!:woot:

Er, why?

Hype is pretty big for this. This movie is going to do numbers.

No, I just thought your answer was poorly thought out. Someone disagreeing with you DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE RIGHT.

Please stop quoting/responding to me. You're going to be a Hype meme and I want no part of it.

Feel free to put me on ignore.

I want to get into the Deadpool comics.

What are your top 5 must have?

I remember seeing a cover with all the heads of the marvel characters on the floor. I don't know if that was a parody or a real storyline in his comic.

Any of the Cable & Deadpool run are great, I can recommend those.

To me it says the studio is just letting this film be what it wants to be. They seemingly don't give a **** if it's a big box office hit and would be happy if it's a modest cult hit.

I don't know how you could be negative about this. We're getting a Deadpool film that may have a smaller budget... but is basically getting free reign. It's like an indie movie being made by a big studio. They should be praised for their willingness to let the film makers do what they want and actually catering to the fans for once. I mean seriously, that April Fools Day interview alone wouldn't exist if the film wasn't rated R.

My thoughts exactly, which is why I'm looking forward to this.
It really does seem like Fox gave the film makers a small but decent budget and said, "Have at it, do what you want" and walked away. Good move on their part, but even better on the film maker's for sticking so closely to the source material and spirit of the character.

I can't believe we are getting an R rated Deadpool. God, I hope this thing is a success and above all a good fun film. Reynolds seems so sincere and seems to really love the character.

That r rating announcement was brilliant, loving the humour they have displayed thus far.

I've never been sold on Reynolds, he's been pretty unimpressive in every role I've seen him in so far, but this just might be the one to change my mind.

Buried was pretty damn good.

That's what I hear. And to be fair I've only seen him in The Proposal, X-men Origins Wolverine, Green Lantern, Van Wilder, and Blade Trinity so I've inadvertently only seen his worst performances.

Yet the Kelly run still features graphic violence that you said don't need to be shown. If I remember correctly the whole rating system changed late 90s early 00's because of X-Force titles. The rating system for Marvel comics was different then. Your basing this on an old system that is now irrelevant.

The Kelly run DID NOT feature graphic violence. There was no blood and gore during the Kelly run. Marvel's ratings system changed shortly after Quesada and Jemas started calling the shots (around 2001/2002). The DP book started using the new ratings system during Priest's run on the book (which was rated PG/PSR). Also, Marvel's rating system is a joke and inconsistent.

The majority of Deadpool comics are aimed at older teens and adults. I know this started at least with Cable Deadpool having many issues with T+ and the other Deadpool , X-Force and mini runs having Parental Advisory. Hence why pretty much everyone wants it R. Deadpool didn't even find a big audience till the mid 00's. While your obviously allowed to disagree with the films choice, you can't just act like only the 90s comic rating matters. It doesn't. Things change with time and that's just the way it is.

The DP books (along with most Marvel comics) starts being aimed at older teens and adults shortly after the Quesada/Jemas regime came into power at Marvel. The DP comic started becoming more "adult" during the Palmottie/Gray run on the book (which came right after the Priest run). The CABLE/DP series was rated PSR/T+, but most of the series (despite the rating) was basically more in line with an "all ages" audience then an older teen/adult audience. It wasn't until after that series ended that Marvel started slapping the "PARENTAL ADVISORY" label on his books and started aiming them solely at older teens and adults. FYI, DP became popular during the 90's, not the mid 00's. His popularity started to rise up because of the Kelly run.

Anyways, you had a bunch of replies that I disagreed with but I'm done. I don't think there's a point anymore. I hope you can enjoy the film because going from the leaked script we are lucky as **** to get something so close to the original run and in tune to the character. After 10 years of talk we are finally getting this! :dpl:

I'm pretty sure that I will enjoy this movie. I just wish that lots of younger kids would be able to see this movie when it is released so that DP could become even more popular with a wider age group. I want DP to become the nest Iron Man, not the next Kick-Ass.
