ALL SPOILERS. If Ben Affleck had appeared as Daredevil, it would have been cool but would've been awkward just because of Gardner.
Speaking of which, unless I heard wrong, Deadpool made a joke about Wolverine letting himself go after his "divorce". Callback to Hugh Jackman's separation with his wife? Um...?
So, in some manips I saw before the movie, I thought the Wolverine mask looked a slightly better than the film version. I've only seen the film once, but it almost looked like Jackman had trouble seeing under the mask, which I don't know if it was entirely CGI or not--it looked to me like Jackman had trouble keeping the mask up on his face, like he was trying to maintain keeping his head up for the duration of the scenes with his mask on. Did anyone else feel this way?
Regardless, I was happy nonetheless to get a comic book accurate costume with the cowl! I was nearly panicking we weren't going to get it. After all, once approaching the final fight, seeing them both walk down the road--I thought "Oh no...this is it...no mask at all?" But then finally...he put it on at just the proper moment.
I hope we get to see a little more of DP and Wolvie again.
From my point of view, I always thought as a franchise, Deadpool could go on a little longer than a trilogy, but after watching this movie, it felt so satisfying that I felt like we got a completed arc, and that another sequel wasn't necessary. Ryan Reynolds, without doubt was, and always will be perfectly cast for Deadpool regardless of what movie he may have appeared in--X-Men Origins: Wolverine for instance. Hoping we can at least see him in an Avengers movie but with Wolverine again.
When Logan ended, I was kind of upset about a few things--the missed opportunities--such as a Wolverine and Deadpool movie for one--but yes we got it finally--but I would have liked to have seen AT LEAST one scene of Logan teaching a history class at Xavier's School. That would have been cool.
Lastly, I wish we could have seen at least a proper ending to an X-Men movie with Storm, Scott and Jean altogether. Cyclops was written out of the X-Men movies unfairly. And of course, we never got Gambit or Jubilee on the team either. (Not counting Apocalypse for Jubilee) If they're open to doing an MCU multiverse movie of the X-Men. For me, X-Men: The Last Stand nearly ruined the franchise. Most of the prequels were good, or spin-offs, but ultimately I just wanted the classic X-Men. The prequels were a lot better, story-wise, but I prefer the present-day characters. Just saying.
Well a minor issue, but not major, I wish the classic X-Men animated series theme could have been played in one scene.
