Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine Spoiler Thread

Really smart from Marvel to have turned the Void into their Mad Max version of the Wasteland. Loki sort of hinted at that being the case but they really leaned into it hard here and it worked really well and It will probably be featured even more moving forward in the MCU. I know that I would gladly be back there and see what more fun stuff and different versions of characters could still be around.

Its a shame we didnt get a bit of Cable and Domino, their vibe from DP2 would have really fit well in the Wasteland aesthetic here.

Yeh Cable for sure. Some characters fit that Mad Max aesthetic really well.

So I went to read articles about "cameos" to see if I missed any. Here's the rundown. I'm only mentioning the movie they first appeared in as a supporting character.

X1- Sabretooth, Toad
X2- Pyro, Lady Deathstrike
X3- Juggernaut, Callisto
XOW - Blob
XFC- Azazel
XA- Psylocke

DD- Bullseye
TP- Russian

I still haven't spotted Bullseye and the Russian in the actual film but the actor that played them were credited in articles, I'm assuming it came from the main credits. Blob wasn't very obvious, personally speaking.

References:
Reed
Daredevil
Punisher
Quicksilver
Magneto
Scarlet Witch's statue
Beast
Jean
Storm
The Professor

I don't remember hearing Cyclops, but one of the articles I've read mentioned him

Somehow I missed Blob and Bullseye but I spotted the rest of them. A lot of them really were blink and you miss them cameos.

I just remember the Wanda statue but even that got a lot of oohs and aahs from the audience.

What I loved even more than Blade showing up was him proclaiming that he's the only Blade and Deadpool giving a nice long fourth wall-breaking look into the camera. :funny:

And holy ****, for the last 48 hours since seeing the movie I totally forgot that Reynolds was in Blade: Trinity. Chalk that up to that movie being forgettable as all hell.

And he always will be the only Blade in my eyes :beaming:

I can't find that post from that one dude who complained about the Gen-Zers who didn't react to Snipes as Blade, but I just want to tell that person that he got the second biggest reaction at my screening. The biggest was Chris Evans yelling FLAME ON and revealing he was the Human Torch.

I thought Channing Tatum did a great job as Gambit. He nailed the character and his action scenes were on point. I wouldn't mind him being MCU Gambit in all honesty.

What do you think that look meant? I'm not so sure yet. Like a "You're about to be wrong about that"? Or a "yeah we should have had a Blade movie by now" poking fun at the delays?

I took it as "He's probably right because we're never getting that new Blade movie."

There were so many cameos that I almost forgot about Cavill. I only wished they mentioned WB by name.

Seeing all the Wolverines from the comics was cool especially AOA.

But Evans wins the cameo contest.

Saw during the fan event and seeing it again tomorrow. I was skeptical at how marvel was going to handle Deadpool and how Deadpool would fit into the mcu with all his quips, 4th wall break and overall tone. This movie made me feel more at ease with that as I thought it fit well. The the core emotional drama of the movie was still there, it was felt and the humor around it didn't downplayed it. Every character reacted well and accordingly despite the humor around it instead of turning every character into a quip machine like most marvel movies tend to do.

I loved how the other characters were given the r rated treatment and showed how violent their powers can really be particularly Gambit. The guy was a Card dealing French impaling machine with his cane and 52 deck of cards. X 23 tearing Juggernauts legs was nuts and Blade choking Toad was the icing on the cake.

I did hope they had better choreography or more fleshed out individual fights. I would have love seeing Blade use his "boomerangs" in a sequence similar to the opening sequence in Blade and more of X23 in action but what we got was still cool and makes me wonder how bloody violent The Human Torch could have gotten had he been shown to use his powers at thay level.

With the news about Doom I'm not going to talk about the cons of this movie at this point.

Overall enjoyed and got teary eyed. Round 2 tomorrow.
