Deathstroke: Is he in Justice League? If so, who is playing him?

Evans was pretty well known. Hemsworth though was a complete mystery. I remember some people jumping for joy because they thought his five minute appearance in Star Trek was amazeballs, but I think most of us were like, "Who?"

If they're going to cast a bald actor then they shouldn't miss out on the absolute best choice.

Looks like a Diet Dom Deluise? J/K but this guy's career went south too fast after the Titanic and the Phantom.

There is a rumor going around that the black suit behind Zack and Jason is actually the Deathstroke costume that we saw in that clip released yesterday. Could this be true?

I don't even think that black thing back there was a suit in the first place. It seems like an undersuit, or a model or something like that. Doubt that's Deathstroke's suit.

LOL yeah.

It's funny, I remember back in the day, people were clamoring for him to play Lex Luthor. I was 100% against it, but after seeing Eisenturd's performance, maybe Zane wouldn't have been so bad after all, lol. Certainly wouldn't have been any worse.

i think you could do better than Zane. Its not either or. people just bring up Zane cuz he looks like the animated version of Lex.

Oh, absolutely. You could do much better. I'm just saying that Eisenberg was a total flop in the role. And I wasn't a hater when he was announced; I initially thought the casting was inspired. Maybe they could improve upon him in JL and in future Superman films but I certainly wouldn't mind a recast.

You do realize these are two conflicting statements don't you? :cwink:

No, the first is referring to Deathstroke and Batman, the second is referring to Deathstroke and Deadshot.

I don't think anybody is really suggesting that one would be mistaken for the other, but rather that their similarities in design, name, and role may lead to a sense of repetition.

No, I am saying that there are people in the general audience, casual movie goers, who will be confused, and I guarantee you, someone will be asking themselves 'Why did they recast Will Smith?'

I feel like the people who would confused Deathstroke and Deashot are the same people that confuse the Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers. It'd be too negligible an amount of people to really make a difference, especially because I highly doubt a lot of those folks will even be in the audience.

Yes, exactly.
I never said this was an issue, or a concern, just a simple reality. People will do it, and we know they will because people already HAVE mixed the characters up in the past.

It's not like there will be actual critic reviews that complain of studio whitewashing by re-casting Smith; but, somewhere, there will be a Facebook post from someone's uncle, befuddled as to why they got rid of Fresh Prince.

There is nothing to argue here, then people made it more ridiculous by bring in Batman. NO one is going to confuse Batman with Deathstroke, Deadshot, Deadpool, The Grateful Dead, a Dead Head, etc, regardless of how much over lap they have in backstory, MO, etc.

The point was entirely about passing, superficial similarities to CASUAL moviegoers.

Okay, then I guess the only solution is to cast Will Smith as Deathstroke too. If there's a scene where he fights Deadshot, just have both of them wear their masks so people don't notice.

Not gonna lie, he did look short to me too. Probably just a result of the costume and big helmet.

Last year I had an FX artist friend in Vancouver tell me Joe Manganiello was cast as Deathstroke/ Slade Wilson for Suicide Squad. Said the costume was almost exact to Arkham Origins, the mask was an orange stripe instead of half orange. Said he was huge, was as big as Batman, and the costume just screamed money. What he described I'm looking at now.

Bravo Stephan.

Except he wasn't in Suicide Squad.
Of course, seeing the hack job they did on SS, he easily could have been in it, and just completely cut out.

:whatever:

Again, I was NOT saying this was a PROBLEM, thus it's not something in need of a "solution."

There were people walking out of BvS who were actually asking "What happened to Joseph Gordon Levitt? Why did Bruce come back? How did Alfred loose the weight?"
Ok, maybe not that last one, but the point still stands: It's simply a reality that some people, a minority of casual movie goers, will be confused.

It's not a problem with the films, it's just a matter of some people not paying attention, or just being REALLY lazy when they watch movies. That's just reality.

The Luke Evans rumors have me intrigued. One report said he was in talks for Sinestro, and that would be kinda perfect. He really looks the part. However, I think he could also make an epic Deathstroke. Either way, I hope WB has him in talks for SOMETHING, and it's not just another case of "let's waste a really good actor in a small and pointless role" (Jena Malone, Scoot McNairy, arguably Holly Hunter in BvS).

Of course, ALL of these rumors could be (and probably are) total BS.

On that note though, another actor that might make a good Deathstroke is Toby Stephens. He's my top pick for Sinestro but he could do Slade justice as well.
