Deathstroke: Is he in Justice League? If so, who is playing him?

Real talk, when I was leaving from a BvS screening I heard someone complaining that Christian Bale changed his voice to a robot voice. :o

Let's be real here. The casual general audience aren't following this stuff day in and day out like we do, but can we stop pretending like they're a bunch of mentally handicapped 4 year olds?

Super contradictory. Haha.

Not understanding the knightmare scene and not realizing that Batman has been recast/doesn't connect to the Nolan trilogy isn't the same.

I'll never understand why people say good actors are wasted on small parts. Maybe they didn't have the time or the desire for anything bigger. That aside, would you prefer to have bad actors for small roles?

Still want Sean Bean to play Deathstroke...

Hahaha, good point. :D

Poor Sean Bean. He's the Hollywood version of Kenny from South Park.

Yayyy, I tried starting a casting thread for this in DC movies, but got no love.
Sadness. :waa:

Anyway, I don't know who is playing him, but I know who I'd like

- Scott Adkins, who could easily pull off the moves and with a little grooming could handle the look.

or

- Michael Jai White (who's quite underrated as an actor, as well as a master of ass-kicking)

Ron Perlman and Steven Lang totally have the look, but could never pull of Slade's amazing agility, speed and grace.

I've seen this:

http://screenrant.com/deathstroke-justice-league-casting-actors-batman-solo-movie/

And I think it's got some pretty solid choices ( Tom Hardy ? Yeah, I think he's too big now, but who knows. Clive Owen ? Hmmmm

Keanu Reeves is actually pretty decent as a villain (seen Man of Tai Chi ? the man kicks ass and can do nasty really well).

I'm a Keanu fan, so I could totally live with a Keanu Deathstroke.

Gerard Butler and Karl Urban would be good - although again, not sure how convincing with the fight moves ( I mean, both of them can do stunt fighting more than passably, but Deathstroke is probably the best fighter in the DC universe (comparable skill level to Batman but with a little bit of super strength and agility to give him the edge - now a movie Captain America (who's superhuman, I started a thread in the Cap forum, and pretty much all the Marvel fans agree) vs Deathstroke would be an epic battle ( although I guess I have to admit that Cap v Bucky has been pretty epic, hell Bucky vs Slade, if both were armed would be beyond epic......

okay I'm getting off topic - whoever does Deathstroke will need to be convincing as a superhumanly skillfull combatant, combining grace, power and ruthlessness - imagine Batfleck's warehouse scene x 10 on the brutality.

Man, I like the look of Deathstroke, I just hope the writing for him is decent enough (and the fight choreography is suited to the character's abilities).

It was a shot in the arm, so to speak, for my faith in DC films (after seeing the incredibly average Suicide Squad ).

I'm still of the opinion that Lang's physicality would suit Slade Wilson perfectly, while Deathstroke could easily be handled by a stuntman thanks to the heavy costume and solid mask. Lang's about the only actor in the right age range to be significantly more grizzled and experienced than Batfleck while still be in excessively good shape, and he's one of my favorite just pure actors of the last few decades; I've got a weakness for his theatricality in Gettysburg, Tombstone, and Public Enemies. Plus I figure he's perfect if you're goal is to get a legendary Deathstroke who might have a bigger rep than Batman and who really blurs the line between man and superhuman, since his visible age and lack of an eye are normally signs of weakness, but he's just so damn skilled and jacked on super-juice that it doesn't matter.

Reeves and Butler could both pull off a Deathstroke who's more of a Batfleck contemporary; I'd like their ability to be in action scenes without a mask, but it would spoil some of the fun of making the DCEU feel lived in; I just love the idea that Wonder Woman wa sin WWI, Deathstroke may actually be a genuine Cold War vet, Batman's been going for two decades, and that we've got a diverse age range for the Justice League even past that.

My biggest hope with Deathstroke is they reveal he and Nightwing already have a history.

Deathstroke isn't old, he is in his mid 40's to early 50's and his white hair isn't age, it is a side effect of the serum so I don't know why you are insisting on a 64 year old actor to play someone who isn't that old.

Reeves, Pitt, or Lang as Deathstroke would all be awesome. Lang was dope in "Don't Breathe."

Affleck was so excited to tweet that, and Damon may be willing to do an Affleck directed Batman film. Yeah not much to go on but speculating Damon for now. :D

I'd love to see Damon mix it up with Affleck in the future of the DCEU, but he's no Deathstroke.

Partially because Batman's in his 40's in this universe, and because I like playing up Deathstroke as being a twisted version of Captain America; a veteran hero from an American war still fighting decades past his supposed prime. A younger Deathstroke fits a younger DCEU, but I wnat someone who could actually look at Batman as a youngster just for the power that would portray.

Someone on Twitter called MisterBatfleck put Ron Perlman's Slade voice in the video.

Stephen Lang was awesome in Don't Breath

Anywaym gotta go.

I would never in a million years think of Keanu for Deathstroke (or any other role, for that matter), but now that you bring it up I kinda love the idea.

Still want Pitt for Hal

Deathstroke is meant to be a counterpart and dark reflection to Batman, so him being 10 years older works this concept well while also still doing the older man angle, while putting him 20 years older is just too much and loses the dark reflection element. This is all ignoring the out of universe consequences of getting someone as old as him and thereby limiting how long he can play the role.

Nah, I like middle aged DS. The older he is the less villainous his characterization is (something I've noticed). If we get a 60 year old Deathstroke he might as well join the Justice League. And whoever said his hair went white from the experiment is right. He was mid 20's with a full head of white hair.

What age would you ideally want him to be? For me I think anywhere from 45 to 55 would be good.

Dennis Hopper around the mid-80s would have been perfect for the character in my book. I find Joe Manganialerarrlilo to be pretty boring.

as much as i like Ron Perlman as hellboy, the dude just looks weird and i dont think he looks right as deathstroke

Same age as Batfleck give or take a year or so.

Still a bastard, but experienced enough to know when and when not to help out the "good guys".
