Dexter - Part 2

Who cares about Quinn? He should have gotten the Doakes treatment a long time ago.

Ok so... just finished the last episode.

A couple of things. First, it felt like a mid season episode, not even close to a proper season finale. A weak 12th episode for a weak season. No surprises there.

Inconsistencies/plot holes. A few more to add to the list. The entire police waits outside for Dexter to come in to the house, to the crime scene? COME ONNNN. Stupid way to avoid them watching Dexter's face on the painting.
Then the building. Nobody in the lobby of the building saw someone like Travis going up? Nobody saw Dexter with Travis' body going down?

Deb. This was Deb's episode. It was way more interesting to see her, the character, Jennifer Carpenter's acting, than anything else. I gotta say I'm surprised they went to the 'she loves him' route. It's weird. Specially after watching the ending. I think Deb finding out about Dexter's killing was already interesting to see before the entire 'I love you' thing. It's like they added this too late into the game, so it feels forced.

Still, I'm glad she finally finds out. I knew it!. Too bad it was on this shi*ty season.
Can't wait for what's gonna happen next year. We still have Louis and the arm into the equation (oh and Masuka's great voice as Yoda).

"Oh God".

Just read this article which puts into words exactly how I feel about Deb and Dexter

An amazing ending, that puts an end to what was a fairly strong season. I liked it way better than the lacklustre Season 3 and the abysmal Season 5.

Still my favorite show on TV and next season will be a stunner.

............yeeeeeah..... peoples..... prepare for one HUGE rant.

didn't see the finale, read the spoilers and don't plan on watching it. infact didn't see a few episodes of this season at all.....

this coming from a former fan who'd NEVER miss an ep of dexter if it costed him his life. that's how uninterested i became in this friggin' show thanks to season 6.

i am....severely dissapointed.

all the pointless, random subplots that just got forgotten about didn't help.

brian moser returning for about one episode didn't help ( part of that whole " subplot" problem)

quinn and batista smoking a joint together.....kinda put a smile on my stoner face, but it still doesn't change anything....

the OBVIOUS gellar twist certainly didn't do **** for me....

and even the " SHE KNOWSSS " crap isn't gonna get me to watch the next season. they could've done so much better with a reveal like this , and a crap season like this just wasn't the right one to do it.

this whole season was one big letdown. it tried to fit in all these pieces together and it just fell apart.

but i think the one, BIG thing that ABSOLUTELY ruins the entire show for me forever....

is the very ****ing THOUGHT of DEB BEING " IN LOVE " WITH DEXTER.

are you ****ing kidding me ?!

have they really run out of THAT many ideas, that they just lazily pulled this out of their asses ?!

what, so now that deb's basically ****ed every male character in the show other than batista or masuka, the only thing left now is to try and bone her adopted brother ?!

i tried to like deb. for 6 WHOLE SEASONS. i loved this show too much to admit i ever even THOUGHT of disliking a character , especially one as important as deb. but now i'm officially done with pretending . I CAN'T ****ING STAND HER.

yea, we get it. you curse alot, you cry alot, you wear man clothes, you have daddy issues and trust issues and relationship issues, blah blah ****ing blah. your ****'s getting old. seriously. the whole thing's been run into the ground.

this **** has even gotten me cursing like her now. lmao. great.

and seriously, have the writers forgotten that dexter is , or was once, when the show still had good writing , a SOCIOPATHIC SERIAL KILLER ? does he REALLY need a girlfriend or some kind of " love " involvement EVERY SINGLE SEASON ?! especially if it's ****ing deb of all people ???? i get it . he's supposed to be learning to be " human ". that's his supposed " character development" . but they could do it in a much better way than this. like i said, lazy writing. now they're just doing anything to grab the general audience's attention and using cheap " shock value " .

**** this . i'm done. sorry guys,a cheap cliffhanger at the very last minute of a season that's otherwise full of uninteresting writing is not gonna get me wanting to continue watching this series. if you guys wanna keep pretending this is still worth watching, or atleast as good as seasons 1, 2, or 4, that's your choice. but i'm not falling for it . i'm getting off this ****ing train before the crash becomes any worse.

This is what's gonna happen

The show kicks off right where we left it,Dexter and Debs are both in shock suddenly Debs runs off and Dexter chases after her shouting her name and telling her he can explain eeverything.Debra then in a frantic state runs across the road without looking both ways gets hit with a car and knocked unconscious,Dexter then calls 911,then later at the end of the first episode of season 7 Dexter is outside Debra's room in the hospital and the doctor tells him he can visit her now,so Dexter reluctantly walks into the room, and asks Debra if she can remember anything from the past 24hrs and she replies ..."F*## no,bro"....then the end credits start

:o

at this point, a cop out like this is probably exactly what the writers would do now.

Even though I knew it would happen its been a long time coming it still left me shocked.
And im going to say that we might have 2 killers im homicide I think the assistant that got the ice truck killer hand is a serial killer or might kill somebody.

Dude, my thoughts exactly lol I wrote a rant like this because of season 5. I'm gonna keep watching for those few moments they have where Dexter is his usual self and not an awkward dude exploring his feelings.

noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

that was a pretty weak finale sans the last 5 minutes...even then it was painfully predictable.

i knew exactly how
deb would find out
when it was mentioned dex had to go back to the church hideout. the confrontation atop the building with travis was stupid and devoid of all suspense.

i only now care about what happens with louis, and what happens
now that deb knows about dexter.
this show is not good anymore, plain and simple.

I laughed for a straight 2 minutes at the last scene the look on Dexter and Deb's faces HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

You guys are all *****ing about how bad of a season this was, and how bad the show is now, as if you're owed a good show. Sure, it's not Breaking Bad, but there's no show on television that's as good as that. I thought this was an alright season, it was definitely better than season 5, with it's giant cop-out ending. Either way, Next season should be pretty good. I doubt they're going to cop out again, because they even said that these last two episodes were going to set up the last two seasons.

Hellblazzer, stop BS around! How many love interests does Dexter have? He had Rita and Lila in 6 seasons! 2! The fact that he did some biatchez this season and got blown, doesn't make them love interests. And with Deb, how can you even call that a love interest yet?! Also, if you're a former fan, then it's utterly dumb to come here and brag about a show that you don't like and that you're not a fan of anymore and how much u hate it! Then why do you watch it? I don't go around watching Sex And The City and then come in here writting wat a load of **** it is, I saw 3 episodes with my gf totally, I think it's girly BS and so I do not watch it coz I do not like! Jeez! Its simple.

OT: I love the show, but I agree that it's not as great as it was (despite the first episodes of this Dex season were VERy promisin), still I'm very satisfied with it. I liked this Season better than 5th and I can't wait to see what happens next season (I wish it would at least air in the summer, next autumn is so far away!). The ending was AMAZING, I loved the conversation of Dexter and Travis and then Deb finding out about Dex, plus teh look on their facez lmfao maaaaaaaan!

Kaleb, what you said lol I would not be surprised if something like that happen, but I truly hope it wont and I hope the writers will surprise us! I sdont want Dheb to have a fakin' amnezia hahahaha! But I think its a good chance of sg bad happening coz we have at least 2 more seasons to go and I do not believe she'll deal with this for 2 seasons. Thats why I did not expect this to happen so soon. What happens in the Books, when she finds out? If she do...

ending made the whole season good. like how spiderman 3 made spiderman 1 and 2 suck...this reversed it, once scene saved the season for me.

lots of things set up...quin,the hand, debs love.

i hope its not a.....lets skip ahead a few months type season return where deb and dexter just look at eachother awkward for half the episode before she yells at him and is....because i love you i allow you to not go to jail.

What reason did she have to go back to the church anyways? Did I miss something? But yeah I'm with everyone else who feels that the finale was weak, and the shocking ending was expected. But Louis played no part in this finale and that's what bothers me the most.

I can see the next 2 seasons going like this: Deb dealing with Dexter's secret while trying to protect him and then the next season after that might bring an all out manhunt for him.

To be honest, the ending we got would never be shocking to us, because we have all been expecting it the past two-three seasons. We can't knock the writers for giving us what we have all wanted for a while now. They have a lot to explore next season with Louis, what happened in the end, and Quin. I'm looking forward to it.

@Kar
She went to the church to tell Dex how she really felt about him. Hopefully, that story element is gone for good next season. IMO Deb and Dex are just fine as brother and sister and that's all I want to see from them.

The Dexter finale was a pretty boring, by the numbers episode.... until about a minute before the end!

Really, though, this whole season has been a total waste. Season 5 was a good season that balked on following through with the killer ending cliffhanger it was building up to. This was a boring, tepid season that belatedly gave us the cliffhanger that should have ended Season 5. So really, Season 6 shouldn't really have ever existed.

In a way, that's like two spoiled seasons. It has its detractors, but I actually really enjoyed Season 5, and what let it down for me was that it had a lame, cop-out ending that didn't do anything to raise the stakes the way the previous season finale had. And that underwhelming ending kinda soured the taste of the whole season. And now, we get this great ending, but it's a year overdue, following a DISASTROUS icky-incest-love subplot, and tacked on to the end of the worst season of Dexter ever, meaning it lacks the punch it could have had.

I think what I meant to ask was "how did she know he'd be there?"
