It just felt like a bit of a waste to me.
Everything they set up with Travis had the potential to be really good, and I just don't understand why, the minute Dexter confronte Travis about Gellar, he stopped seeing him altogether.
Why did it not continue being a vision like Harry is to Dexter? Why did we not see Travis confused and in turmoil, having ghost Gellar talking him round, saying it was God's plan for him to kill him, as he was supposed to help him from a different plane? Why did he just suddenly become this two dimensional villain?
And with Deb's councilling sessions - it was really interesting having her connect to the fact that her brother meant a lot to her, but she didn't really know him all that well - I thought that would lead to her getting suspicious, maybe wondering why Harry and Dex where always so secretive, maybe questioning some of the major unexplained things that have happened.
It's just so random to have it all lead to 'I'm in love with my brother' instead. And when I say random, I don't mean unpredictable, unique and revolutionary. I mean ridiculous and unneccesary controversial.
And why not give us a bit more about Louis before the end. Some clue as to what his deal is in the finale. Travis saw the hand but that was basically all we got.
All of that dissapointment combined with sloppy plot flaws, a kind of predictable and lacking 'message' in Dexter's usually engagin monologues, and it made for a season I was glad to see end.
Okay rant over. Season over.
I'm just chuffed to bits at the ending anyway.
I hope they don't screw that up next season with some convinient get out claus or an unrealistical reaction.
