The fact that the original showrunner is involved gives me a bit of hope. The last couple of seasons were a big step down in quality. Specially that last one.

Yeah if it wasn't him I'd be a lot more skeptical. Not saying he's perfect, but it at least is something and the fact that they claim it'll be a limited series. I mean if it's a huge success it won't be, but still.


I'm sure this will be very Unforgiven/Old Man Logan of Dexter being pulled out of exhile for "one last job"

There was actual character development early on, the last seasons were all "Oh he is changing! No, he is not, he is still the same" over and over again, it became repetitive and boring.

I don't really care about anything positive happening for anyone but Harrison. I'm just in it to watch Dexter destroy himself and hopefully Hannah gets what she deserves as well.

I'm pulling for Dexter and Hannah, but I don't have high hopes for Dexter at least given what Phillips has said in the past.

If Hannah's been raising Harrison this whole time, then that's effectively taking away his mom and dad, so not such a good ending for him, either. And if she didn't raise him, also probably not such a good end for him.

I still would rather Harrison end up somewhere else away from both those people. I despise Hannah though so her especially.

Ok we can all agree the final season sucked hard but the one thing I did like was the final episode title.

I mean come on “Remember The Monsters” was the perfect last episode name for this show. At least to me it was.

I mean when it was revealed as the final title I thought it was great.

That's what I thought. The only thing he could really get in trouble for is taking his sister out of the hospital like how he did and for helping Hannah leave the country.

That’s awesome. Seems like the show will likely be set in the small town that Dexter ran away to after faking his death.

Nice. I like the idea of continuing it, as the idea of Dexter exiling himself was good, it's just the execution sucked. Dexter operating in a small town is a cool idea.

I’m going to miss the Miami setting. Upstate NY doesn’t seem as thrilling to me.

At least it will be something different.

I wonder how this is going to start. Will Dexter have already gone back to killing people/criminals in his new location to satisfy his urges? Or will have have actually remained dormant all this time, and then gets back into killing after some kind of inciting incident? I could see it going either way.

I'm sure a main component of the new story will be somebody (maybe the new "unofficial mayor" villain) being suspicious of Dexter or figuring out who he really is.

I wonder if they'll just pretend Harrison never existed rather than revisit that whole "I sent my child off to be raised by Crazy Hannah" thread.

I wouldn't call Hannah crazy. Lila West was crazy. Hannah was morally flexible, like say Tony Soprano.

Regardless, as a (seemingly rare) Hannah fan, I'd like to see her return, although how I feel about that, like all of this, depends on what exactly they do.

I didn't hate Hannah like others, but she was absolutely not "mom" material.

That said, I'd prefer to see her back than for them to ignore it completely. Yvonne might be busy with Handmaid's Tale, though.

I wouldn't have left Harrison with her, but I can believe that Dexter would have. Stranger for me (aside from his whole decision to fake his death and become a lumberjack) is that he would let her think that he was dead and that she was the person most directly responsible for Harrison. Like, yeah, trick your girlfriend into raising your son for you, good call there. Still, it happened, and if they're committing to logger Dexter they should commit to all of it.
