It has been a long time since I watched Dexter I can barely remember each season, although I do remember my thoughts on how the seasons were.

Seasons 1, 2 and 3 were all great, season 4 sucked, season 5 bounced back and was good (the fact I always liked Julia Stiles helped) and after that it was all downhill with the last season absolutely terrible. I had to force myself to see how it was going to end.

I'll definitely at least give the new episodes a chance, there is still a lot of potential there.

I'm actually excited to see this revival. I haven't enjoyed Dexter in the final couple of seasons, but I did like it very very much early on. I'm hoping this time captures that feeling again. It will be like reuniting with someone/something you thought you might never see again.

For me season 1 is the best but season 4 definitely second. Both seasons had very emotional endings for me.

Seasons 1-4 are where it’s at

So to this day i never finished Dexter, i stopped mid season 8 because it just wasnt grabbing me and i kept hearing such strong vitriol about the rest of the season and the ending that i just never looked back. Plus if i remember correctly, Breaking Bad’s final season was kicking its ass and completely taking over the popular zeitgeist so it was hard to care.

But i am excited this is coming back to (hopefully) put a good pin on the whole series. This was at one time the best thing on television, it deserves to go out with a bang.

Like I stated for me the only good thing about that finale was the title.

Season 1 to 4 were damn near perfection. Season 5 has its moments but that’s when the quality started to dip

I really hope this revival makes up for that terrible finale

I remember Dexter ending a week before Breaking Bad. The quality of the finales are night and day. Two examples of how to end a show and how not to end a show.

Like i said, at that time NOBODY was stalking about Dexter, all the conversation and scuttlebutt was around Breaking Bad. It was kicking the piss out of Dexter.

The fact that they got Clyde Phillips back for the revival was the first sign that they were moving in the right direction.

After a rewatch before the final season... I’d lean that way, while it’s tragic and has good moments it is also bogged down by a lot of nonsense.

S3 [could be great, but they dragged out the Smits of it all]
