Dexter Season 5 spoilers

Question: I can’t go another week without getting some Dexter season 5 scoopage! —Maria
Ausiello:
Your timing is impeccable, Maria. As luck would have it, I can’t go another week without giving you some Dexter season 5 scoopage. You’re never going to believe who ends up caring for Dexter’s three motherless children. Go ahead, hazard a guess. Dex’s in-laws, you say? Wrong! It’s Deb! New showrunner Chip Johannessen tells me that in the wake of Rita’s brutal slaying, Dex turns to his sister (played by Michael C. Hall’s real-life bride, Jennifer Carpenter) to help care for the kids. And if that’s not problematic enough, all five of them will move into Dex’s old (and rather teensy) apartment! “It’s partially funny and partially not,” says Johannessen. “Deb is not exactly the most maternal person. Nobody quite knows what they’re doing, so there’s a certain kind of struggle to cope.” (For more scoop on Dexter‘s fifth season — bowing in September — pick up the new issue of Entertainment Weekly.)

Question: Give me some solid Dexter season 5 scoop, spoiler boy. —Scott
Ausiello:
You know that Trinity killed Rita. I know that Trinity killed Rita. And Dexter knows that Trinity killed Rita. The police and the FBI, however, don’t know that Trinity killed Rita. And who’s almost always ID’d as the prime suspect in a murder case? That’s right, the spouse. Long story short: Dexter’s nightmare has only just begun.

Dexter Season 5 spoilers

Pretty much all of that was duh. I really dont like that Michael & Jennifer are married. I get the feeling it is affecting the show. I have had a strong feeling since season 4 ended that she was originally supposed to die (which would have followed the code!) But Since Michael is a producer & her husband he pulled rank.

I dunno. Sounds like season 5 is going to be a fun ride. :) Looking forward to it.

I'm with Squeeks. I think season 5 is going to be a good one!

THANK YOU ALL FOR TURNING ME TO THIS SHOW!!!! I remember hearing bout this and adding to my netflix but never gave it a thought till i came here and read the hype and jumped on the bandwagon

ive watched all 4 seasons for the past 2 weeks and i now feel LOST cuz i have nothing to watch now. I just started getting my g/f into the show so maybe i can rewatch them all but i have to say theres only bee 2 shows htat leave drooling and out of breathe for me and this show has done it!!!!!

season 1: took me some time to get into
season 2: loved it, every dark
season 3: took on a side we've never seen to him, a little slow for me but it was done well
season 4: SERIOUSLY THE BEST SEASON FROM ANY SHOW IVE EVER SEEN

i will say that i feel terrible about the ending to season 4 but i guess it had to happen, but i will say whoever the actress that plays Rita def did it spot on! John Litgohow or however you spell it did one of his best acting roles. The creativiness of this show is unchanny and i cant wait till next season.

DEAR LORD its been 10 min and i already want more!!!!!!! haha

Hi there,

I am Maik from Germany and in the middle of my master thesis. Therefore I'm having an online survey about the television show "Dexter" and would be more than happy, if you could help me! It only takes about 10-15 minutes and is about the show in general an it's main character Dexter Morgan. There are no spoilers of course, but lots of Dexter-goodies to win!

Please help me and participate: http://ww3.unipark.de/uc/Dexter

You'd help me even more if you pass on the link to others. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. More information in the introduction of the questionnaire.

Thanks for those who can help and greetings from Germany,

Maik Zehrfeld

P.S.: I'm sorry, if something like this doesn't belong here, but it seems to be the right place and I really need help...

Seems likely. Or it could be a dream sequence. Or she could appear as another part of Dexter's mind, a la Harry representing his Dark Passenger.

Oh, does anyone listen to April Smith and the Great Picture Show? I love them. Turns out one of their songs, "Terrible Things," was actually inspired by Dexter, which made me love them even more when I learned about it. :awesome:

Well, I mean it's their personal life...can't really get in the way of love.

I'm not following on why Deb should have died, though?

I'm so glad we'll see Rita one last time. Even if it's through some home movie, I'll be glad to see her again.

Julie Benz is coming back for one more episode.

http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/05/...lie-benz-rita/

I call a video of some sort that Dexter watches. Maybe a wedding video. Theories?

Maybe she'll be added to his conscience? I mean, his father will always be his conscience I think, but could be something like we get with him and Harry.

Can't be as regular, though. At that point, he might need to wonder about these hallucinations.

Per the article it is only one episode and:

[New showrunner/executive producer Chip Johannessen also rules out a spectral visit a la Dexter’s late pa, Harry. “We’re not going to do some ghostly thing with her,” he says. Adds fellow exec producer Sara Colleton: “We reserve those for Harry. If you have too many things like that it becomes gimmicky.”

She won't be part of his conscious like Harry. The producers said it would be too gimmicky if they did that.

Besides, if her new show takes off, she won't have time for guest spots.

I like Julia Stiles alot. She's underrated so I hope she gets a good role

Same! The possibilities are very cool to think about.

Especially if the "big bad" this season isn't even a murderer.

Seeing them wanting Julia makes me think it would be cool to have a female serial killer that looks kind of lik Rita this year. That ould be a nice conflict on Dexter. A nice battle between his human side & his Dark Passenger.

I have a feeling they're going to stray away from the serial killer vs dexter thread this season...

That would be a heck of a twist. Only 5% of serial killers are women, after all. Plus, the idea of a killer that he could share his life with.

But that might strike to close to being like Trinity, a killer he thought could be his mentor.

It would seem like familiar ground after season 2 though...?

Yeah, Dexter already did the crazy female killer thing.

Unless she follows something close to Dexter's code he'd kill her long before falling for her.

Same here.
