Dexter

I think Rita will begin laying off Dexter after this latest episode. Her behavior makes sense, considering in her eyes, Dexter used to be a drug addict and then cheated on her. How would you act if your spouse was always withdrawn and secretly keeping their old apartment?

Of course, we the audience, know that Dexter is a serial killer, and to us Rita is an annoyance. But once you understand things from her perspective, you actually feel a little sympathy for her character.

And hopefully Batista and Lageurta are over with. First, it seems like a tacked on story just to keep the characters busy because the writers couldn't think of anything better for them, and second, I really don't enjoy seeing two fat people making out and spooning.

Yeah good post about Rita. I agree. They have a bit of a ying yang effect going on.

haha watching two fatties going at it doesn't do it for you hey?

For the record... Again! Dexter didn't cheat on Rita she had broken up with him at the time that he slept with Lyla.

I think it is interesting that Trinity seems to be freed by his family & burdened by his Dark Passenger. While Dexter is freed by his Dark Passenger & burdened by his family.

Oh good Lord, you people get sick of the supporting cast way too easily. "How dare Rita react to her husband's lies in such a plausible manner!? The ***** must die!" Besides, it would suck if Rita died. That would mean Dexter would have to raise the kids himself and have even less time to go a-hunting.

You know what I'd love to see? Rita accidentally kill somebody who really pissed her off/threatened her and have Dexter clean it up for her. And then she becomes sort of his knowing accomplice. Covers for him & whatnot.

I will be interested to see if they eventually have Rita learn and accept who Dexter really is, or if he just goes on living the Trinity life style.

I'd really love to see how the world would react.

I'm looking forward to Dex "diving in with both feet" from now on. The ending of this episode was awesome. He builds a place to store his murder gear and... Rita hands him a padlock for it! It's like Christmas came early for Dex. :D

I think there will be a twist closer towards the end of the season. That will reveal Trinitys family knows about his dark deeds. They just seem too prefect.

Yeah, I'm looking for some kind of twist with Trinity's family as well. They're definitely way too squeaky-clean.

I just received my Dark Defender action figure in the mail today. Came with a Santos Jimenez blood slide :word:

Maybe they look the other way because they consider his killings a price they are willing to pay to keep a father and husband that treats them so well.

That'd be one hell of an extraordinary family.

Although, wouldn't it be funny if they're a whole family of Dexters? Like, the mother was a psycho-in-waiting like Miguel from last season, met Trinity, and the two of them work together. And then the kids are raised from birth in this environment where daddy kills and mommy supports him but they have to keep it quiet because other people wouldn't understand. That'd be pretty twisted. Probably a bit too much for Dexter, though. A murderer with a family who helps him murder and manages not to get caught for decades is a little wacky.

I'm thinking that they all know his tragic past and that they love him so much that they are willing to accept him. Flaws and all. It would possibly tempt Dexter to tell Rita hoping that she would have the same sort of understanding. Especially after her speech to him in the therapists office about wanting to get to know the real him.

I agree about Arthurs family knowing.

I also think that Dexter taking that hammer was stupid. It wouldn't surprise me if that bites him in the bumskies.

What if Arthur frames someone everytime before he leaves town, so that there is no connection. I mean the 3rd death is the only one that police consider a homocide, so they will actually be looking for some one.

if Rita aint cool with him doing "drugs", how is she going to be cool with Dexter being a serial killer. She could of easily understand why Dexter was doing drugs cause maby he went through that horrible incident when his mother got murdered in front of him and he layed in a pool of blood for 3 days but instead she made him go through those classes, so imo Rita would never ever be cool with him if she found out who he really was, she would definatley let the popo know imo and don't forget she has 3 kids, i don't think she would feel comfterble if their daddy was a serial killer

Sorry guys, but I'm going to have to go against the trend and not support the idea of Arthur's family knowing he's a killer.

It's a hell of a twist, but Dexter needs to see the fallout once Arthur has been busted, and how it destroys a family. It's part of his progression...

I wonder how they'll explain him killing all over the country, the family theory fits in nice.

I'm hoping the big twist is the reporter was the one that shot Lundy.

Only because I don't want to be wrong lol

Yeah, he puts plaques from the places he builds houses in up on his wall as his murder trophies. No sneaking around with a box of slides for Trinity. :awesome:

That's a good point. Maybe this newfound openness with Rita might convince Dex that he could possibly come clean to her, but then Arthur's exposed and his family tears itself apart, causing Dex to back off and keep his secret.

God this show is just getting better and better!

I honestly thought Dexter was going to spill his guts in the counseling with Rita!

:wow:

His internal monologue when they were washing dishes was great. "Okay, I'll talk. About what? Work? No, something personal. Trinity? ... Too personal." :hehe:

Thats exactly what needs to happen to Trinity. I really really do not want him to die at the end of the season. I want him to get busted and be put on trial and everything. Just like with BTK anyone ever see his confessions?? They are truly horrifying how casual he talks about the killings. Way I see it they need to break the mold this season and Trinity surviving would be a good twist. Plus wouldnt it be great if Trinity learns who Dexter is then gets busted and decides not to rat out Dexter because he understands that what Dexter does is a nessecary evil? It would be truly great to every now and then see Dex go visit an incarcerated Trinity like they are old friends or something.

Yeah, that was great.

Whoever suggested that Rita becomes an accomplice should be "put to pasture".

Rita doesn't know the real Dexter and she's on his side but, the second he tells her, or she finds out. Then sure turn completely against him.

I agree. I hope Dex. doesn't get to Arthur before his police buddies do. I'd like to see how Dex. reacts to seeing Arthur crucified by the press and lose his family. However, Dex. lying to Arthur about who he is could complicate that theory. How would Dex. explain to everyone why he did it?
