what about that woman from the open house who murdered her family? She was a clean kill, right?

Not really, the woman found out about his snopping and confronted him. Eventually he had to take her out by luring her to his home which is hardly a clean kill plus it resulted in the coffee mug getting broken.

compared to the last kill, this one was clean. there weren't any major repercussions aside from the mug breaking and Rita said the kids would make another one. So no harm done.

I just hope they don't feel the need to keep upping the ante for things that go wrong with Dexter's kills. I mean, the guy's gotta have a standard, run-of-the-mill murder every now and then; the believability for Dexter's never getting caught would start dropping if there's a minor disaster every time he kills someone.

Farrow was mad suspect. No shame in expressing ideas about being violent towards women, then finding evidence of blood and that broken fingernail at his studio. Honest mistake, if it really does end up being a mistake. I think both him and the assistant were in cahoots. Dexter already had a moment of killing someone who didn't fall under his code, when he killed Oscar Prado in self-defense.

Yeah, but an honest mistake that results in an unjustified murder is still an inexcusable mistake. Dexter thinks of himself as at least somewhat redeemable, after all. He's not as bad as those other monsters because he's careful to make sure he only kills those other monsters. Killing an innocent should be a huge deal for Dex.

I'm convinced that Farrow was unhinged. I'm sure that he would have eventually killed one of his girls. He definitely had it in him IMO.

it seems like Harry's always right, maby he should have taken care of Trinity first, than he wouldn't have ended up killing Farrow

I don't think it's a situation of Harry always being right. Remember, we're not dealing with Harry's ghost. It's Dexter giving some manifestation of his thought process. He takes Harry's teachings and he represents Dexter's ration side. But doing what's rational isn't always right. There's always going to be some variable that's likely to betray Dexter's rationality. Sometimes it pays to go with his gut, sometimes it doesn't.

Man, I've had the theme song stuck in my head all day.

Literally.

I walked to work with it playing in my ears giving everyone the "dexter" look, and felt...invincible :)

I'm actually surprised Dexters face has never been caught on camera considering he never wears a mask. In this day and age with cameras, cell phone cams, etc at every turn he's damn stupid for not wearing one..

i was thinking the same exact thing on last sundays episode

I thought the same thing when I realized that Dexter caught Trinity exactly because of those security cameras. Don't people's homes or the random bars or wherever Dexter picks his victims up have security cameras? Ever? At least once?

Even a baseball cap worn low over his eyes might suffice. I understand not wanting to wear anything too conspicuous (as he did blend in at the club when he was tracking Farrow), but nothing's more conspicuous than your face!!!

seriously

There was an ep, i believe last season..or s2 where they had him on camera coming off his boat after dumping some bodies i believe, and the whole ep was about him trying to get the surveillance tape before anyone looked at it. I was thinking to myself, "It's about time!".

In real life, a vigilante serial killer would have to be nuts doing what he does in this technological day and age with no mask. But i guess it's just so we can see Dex's facial expression and such....

Yeah, he spends enough time in his murder gear that adding a mask would mean long tracts of Hall not really being able to act with his face.

If memory serves me correct, didn't he have on a mask when he confronted that neighbor
that was vandalizing his neighborhood? I thought he did; i remember thinking "Hall looks very 'Un-Dexter' like" because of it.....

Yeah, he used a mask that one time because obviously the guy would've recognized him if he didn't and he wasn't planning on actually killing him.

wouldn't Trinity still be caught by Dexter if he did wear a mask when he hammered that guy, cause he followed the car from the parking lot right?

A problem with wearing masks is that if some random individual sees him then that individual might call the cops or would certainly remember seeing a masked man....

One of the things that Dexter has used to his advantage in the past is the fact that the people he goes after are usually disliked and nobody really misses them and thus there isn't a big investigation.

My theory is that we will have to change Trinity's name to something Quad Killer. I´m guessing that the coffin is symbolic for his desire to kill himself but he's unable to do so and he therefore kills someone who reminds him of him self at that age. Naturally Dexter, or I guess I should say Kyle Butler, is that target this time.

I was thinking something along those lines as well. I think in his mind there were four people killed (Sister, Mother, Father, and himself before he killed his Father). I think the coffin is meant for someone good as he saw himself before. I think it is meant for Dexter, until [BLACKOUT]he finds out Dexter has killed some one[/BLACKOUT] (per the trailer for next week) which will put a monkey wrench in the whole thing.

As far as Dexter killing an innocent,:wow:.
We should have seen it coming though. He has gotten very, very sloppy since getting married. This should be a big wake up call to get his stuff together.

He might not have to get anything togethor if the rumors of Rita being killed are true.
