Dexter

I really hope that they stick to their guns on this. As much as it pains me to see Dex break his code, even by accident, this is a lesson that he needs to learn.
Agreed.

I'm interested to see how much "guilt" Dex displays after murdering an innocent man. True he was a scumbag but he was innocent nonetheless. I feel its important to show that Dex does feel remorse in some way. I don't want them to gloss over this.

So...who do you guys think the coffin is for?

I'm hedging bets on Trinity building it for himself.

My theory is that we will have to change Trinity's name to something Quad Killer. I´m guessing that the coffin is symbolic for his desire to kill himself but he's unable to do so and he therefore kills someone who reminds him of him self at that age. Naturally Dexter, or I guess I should say Kyle Butler, is that target this time.

Great ep. I especially loved the final scene where Dexter realized he killed the wrong guy and the look that Harry gave him. I guess that was bound to happen sooner or later, in his line of work!

The confrontation where he Blackmails Quinn into convincing that reporter to leave Deb alone made the ep for me also. Good stuff.

Wtf is up with Trinity's mood swings? It appears that he can't kill unless he's 1) on his kill cycle, - and/or - 2) The victim is part of the Trinity pattern he's been following all along. The sight of blood from the deer seemed to really gross him out. He's really complex. This may also lend to most of us' theory that he didn't shot Deb and Lundy.....

..looks like **** really hits the fan next week!

Is it possible Trinity suffers from multiple personality disorder? He has two people living in his head!

I knew Dexter will kill an innocent person in one of the episodes. I wish the photographer wasn't a *****ebag

I pretty much knew it was the assistant from the start. Anyhoo, the photographer was a rapist wasn't he? That makes him less innocent then, say, Cereal Man who was never proven to do anything worse than **** off to pictures of kids.

Cereal man had to go. I know if I found anyone taking pics of my kids and was also a known pedo, I would have done the same to him.

this might be an out-there theory but I think
if Rita does indeed die in a car crash at the end of the season, it may be due to Quinn who is trying to get to Dexter. Quinn is getting close to Dexter's secret just like Doakes did in season 2. I have a feeling that Quinn will cause something bad for Dexter by the end of the season.

Another great episode last night

loved that first scene between Quinn and Dexter, and i love all the scenes with Harry

Trinity is pretty weird, guess it looks like he'll tell Dex in the next episode

good theory
but it's just weird how on julie benz twitter account she has a pic of the guy and it says filming season finale, remember this face. I was thinking maby Trinity gets killed soon, and towards the end of the season he finds out that Quinn is the Vacation Killer, kills him, and at the last scene Dexter finds out Rita has been killed in car accident, finale ends

the 'ghost dad' is an excellent plot device. who ever introduced it is very clever.

Yeah, it's a nice mechanic. James Remar gets to stick around and he can represent both Harry and Dexter's Dark Passenger.

Trippy ending to this week's episode. Can't wait to see where that leads next week.

It seemed that this past episode Harry was acting more as the Passenger. The real Harry would never have urged Dex to murder Trinity in the middle of the woods with no prep time or planning.

Yeah, I was sitting there thinking, "Dude, that's way too messy." But then, later on, when Deb tells Dexter about Harry's apparently numerous marital indiscretions, Harry seems pretty Harry-ish about it. Although, I imagine it's technically just Dexter's idea of how Harry would react.

The easy way out for the writers is of course having Farrow be the murderer and his assistant was just getting rid of the evidence.

Hopefully they won't take that easy a route out of this, personally I think it would be interesting if Dexter felt no remorse after the initial shock of violating the code and this would lead him down a darker road.

I think Harry is just a representation of the Dark Passenger. The way he told Dexter to kill Trinity right there in the open was more like a primal urge rather than what Harry taught Dexter. Although last season finale had Dexter sharing some emotional moments with "Harry" so I guess he really is what Dexter thinks he would be.

It'd be interesting if the Farrow mistake led to Dexter's trying to not kill at all rather than risk another mistake. He's already realized that he genuinely loves Rita and the kids. Maybe he'll attempt to see if that's enough for him now.

I love how Dexter could go camping with Cody, kill, and then be back in time for breakfast. He's the busiest character on TV, IMO.

I'd like to see Dexter have a clean kill again at some point. It seems like every bloody time he's killed someone lately, it results in dire problems.

what about that woman from the open house who murdered her family? She was a clean kill, right?
