Dexter was great they really balanced a sympathy/ hate relationship with the viewer on Dexter himself he is scum because he is a serial killer but his daily life relationship with his sister ect balances what you wuld usually feel for him. Far better then the overated mess the Sopranos became imo.

love that episode. the editing was good too. the only problem with it for me is the lack of cuss words for doakes seems like it takes away from his character...not so much for deb though.

I've been watching on CBS since the beginning so I've seen what, four episodes, I think. I was very intrigued with the first episode. Dexter is so likable and seemingly "normal." I liked the dichotomy of his position in forensics with what he does, his relationship with Deb is cute, some of the supporting characters are more interesting than others. I really like the idea that Harry recognized his situation and fostered and steered him in to the direction that he has (apparently) taken. Rita is a little boring, but I understand that she suits his purposes.

Why I'm bored .. I've been trying to think of exactly what it is. In part, it's the whole Ice Truck Killer thing. I actually like that they don't have a need to wrap everything up in a neat little package by the end of the show, so continuing that storyline was at first, interesting. But everyone wants a resolution. We crave resolutions. I began thinking, will this thing last the whole season? Maybe go in to next season? Maybe as I write this it's still not resolved. That sort of thing is irksome and tiresome.

Also, it's already become something of a one note song. It's the same thing week after week. Dexter does what he does, Deb is spunky and ambitious and cute, Lt. whatever is incompetent and *****y, Doakes swears a lot, Angel is Dexter's friend, Rita is mousy. It's just quickly becoming a yawnfest.

For me the best parts this week were the hilarious parade of ugly jewelry Angel was parading in front of Dexter .. and Deb's punching of his arms after finding Tucci and him saying he was getting bruised, try a hug. I would love to see more of Harry, more of the backstory of why Dexter is the way he is, what circumstances might have led him to this lifestyle, how Harry dealt with it, etc. That would be far more interesting than finding another body part or whatever.

if those are your concerns, id def keep watching...episodes 5 and 6 are more like a two parter...

id stick with it. atleast finish the season, i'd be very surprised if u still dont like it then

Yeah, I intend to keep watching because I do have a sense that they are going somewhere with this, I would just like to see them get on with it a little faster, I guess. (patience isn't my strong suit.)

I wouldn't say I 'dislike,' it. It's just that I want it to continue to be fresh.

I have to disagree with you. The seasons work as single entities,like one long movie. Shows like Rescue Me,The Shield, and the Brotherhood(some of myfave shows) almost never have resolutions sometimes not even in the season finales. I think that these make it more dramatic and thrilling, and keep me coming back

the mind games with him and dex will get deep soon dont worry.

the thing is, this season is all about dexter, his background, everything. and it all comes together in some way shape or form at some point.

season 2 on the other hand is an absolute **** job. it was damn crazy. best 12 weeks of tv ive seen in a long long time.




speaking of which, season 2 is going to be much more difficult then season 1 to convert to cable. interested to see what they do
