Awesome episode, I can't believe Trinity's family protected him like that. I can totally see him going all 'Stepfather' (the Terry O'Quinn original) on them, but the dumb ass family covered him before he could do anything. They will probably all be dead soon.

Awesome episode

So Trinity and the reporter are father/daughter :wow:. From watching last weeks promos, I kinda knew Trinity didn't show up at the door to kill her, I expected that Trinity hired her to shoot Lundy or Deb, but that took me by surprise.

I don't think the Cody scene was meant to be indicative of a dark passenger inside him. I think he was just showing the kind of curiousity that any six year old would show.

Trinity has been doing this their whole lives and the way they ran back to him after Dex attacked him shows that his control over them is still in tact. Plus, according to Dexter, he actually does love them. I don't think he'll try to kill them.

I wonder if Dexter will kill Elliot by the end of this season? It's against the code as Hell but that dude is sniffing around his wife attempting to ruin his a) cover story, b) outlet to humanity.

Man what an intense episode. I wanted dexter too kill trinity so bad. also can anyone really say they saw that ending coming. Now we know Christine's motive she was protecting her father.

spoiler tag brah

Exactly. Plus, Cody has not been subjected to something that would cause him to have a Dark Passenger. He had an abusive father, but does he even remember that? If the Rita thing is true in the finale, which I am very skeptical about, maybe I could buy it. As it stands right now, he is just a normal 6 year old IMO.

As far as the reveal at the end of this last episode concerning Debs possible shooter, I feel it was forced. I loved the rest of the episode immensely though.

he fell through the shed who know what he saw before Elliott broke Dexter's Shed door to get him out

Everything was locked up and even if he had seen something, it would not be damageing enough to cause him to have a Dark Passenger.

I want Dex to kill Rita, I f'n hate her. I dunno how he could marry such a judgemental woman... she's hot, but man is she annoying. ie. when you say to a man: 'you've been a bad husband and father lately' to a guy that hasn't slept in days, because he's doing the night duty for a shared child, that's just disrespectful.

I want Dex to kill Rita, and adopt the kids (so his new family, is like his old)

And does anyone think Deb and Masuka should get together? They are both totally crude, and foul mouthed. They'd make quite a match.

The Trinity family: Love how the brother is the only one willing to stand up, and is still kind of normal. Love how the younger daughter appears to be a nympho (IMO, I mean she acts like she needed to be locked up... I'm not ignoring the fact that she might be trying to escape, but it seems that there might be another reason: she's ridiculously horny). Loved how impotent everybody at the dinner table was.

but... what does Trinity do now? His ritual is now impossible to complete, the Urn and ashes were destroyed. I have this feeling that Trinity is going to kill one of his daughters and cremate her, kill the other in the bath tub, convince his own wife to jump off a roof, and then set himself up to be blugeoned to death by his son.

One thing I loved over the last couple of episodes, was how Dexter was being super annoying to Arthur, in the way that Miguel was annoying Dexter last season

The urn was empty, he emptied it out when he was going to kill himself, and the remaining ashes shattered in that small jar at the construction site.

So yes the urn is gone, but either way the ashes were already gone.

The preview for the next episode was talking about a 4th member of his family and a 4th victim of his cycle.

Why? The episode premiered. This thread is for discussion.

Decent episode, but I'm not sure how I feel about this season as a whole. Is it just me or is this season the worst so far? Not that it's bad but...I don't know...it's just not as good. Hopefully the last three eps pick up the pace a bit.

we did see him take the Ash out, but that was last week, when he was trying to kill people in Tampa. We saw that he takes a small jar of ash with him to do the deed, not the entire earn. So I'm assuming that he returned the ash to the earn

yeah, I had a thought about that. It was pretty clear from the beginning, that the socalled 'trinity' killer was called so because Lundy could only identify 3 seperate murders... I had a hunch it would be something more.

but I'm totally saying right now, that Trinity is going to try and kill everybody in his family, as per his ritual.

Just watched it. I like the twist between Trinity and The reporter. I'm wondering if the rest of the family know about her, or is she his estranged child? All love see her nude though..................

I really hope Masuka tells Dex about what he saw between Rita and the neighbor. Rita has been to squeaky clean throughout this show, and this could finally give Dex some ammunition against all her whining about him not being a good husband.............

The Laguerta/Batista scenes; becoming like nails on a chalk board to me quite frankly.........

I saw the 4th victim thingy of Trinity coming a mile away; but who could it be? And i hope to hell we learn why Quinn took the money, they seem to have completely veered away from that.....

Overall great ep. The "I should have killed you when i had a chance" showdown in the kitchen was the ep highlight!

No, no, and no.

He had the urn upside down and was emptying all of the remaining ashes into that small jar. The same jar he was holding when he was going to jump off and kill himself, which broke on the ground. There are no more ashes.

He built a coffin because he was planning to kill himself in Tampa. I don't recall the show ever hinting that he went down there to kill anyone.

Why? Because the rule is to tag anything 24 hours even after the episode has aired.

I just hate her. Julie Benz is hot, I won't argue that. But I hate everything else about her. I just wish someone would break her nose, so that her voice would become normal. But I hate Rita as a character. She's excessively judgemental by TV standards, not to mention real life standards. I'm so glad the therapist put her in her place.

He wasn't going to kill anyone in Tampa. He was going to kill himself. That's why he made the coffin. He took all of the ashes from the urn and he dumped them out before he was going to jump from the building.

right... for some odd reason, I thought he was going to Tampa on a kill cycle, and that Arthur was freaking, because Dex wouldn't leave him alone... kind of like how Miguel wouldn't leave Dex alone last year.

That's not at all what was happening.

yeah, the coffin. See when he was building it, I didn't know if this was part of the ritual, or if it was something else. He cuold build a coffin every time he goes on a cycle, I dunno.

Like the suicide attempt... I thought it was because Dexter interfered in the ritual. Rather than something else. Then again, maybe everytime he goes on a killing cycle, he tries to kill himself, in order to stop himself.

Then the question is: why all of a sudden, is Trinity trying to kill himself? If it's guilt, why now? If it's something else, what is it?

normal kids dont ask "hey deb did you look into the eyes of the guy u saw die?'

i dont know what kind of kids you guys hang around, but codys little scene was creepy as hell.

Masuka will man up and tell dex. its about damn time he got bigger role.

FINALLY Quinn becomes relevant.

But this whole LaGuerta Batista thing is really...really...gross. lame. just a god awful filler story.

I assumed he was killing himself because the ashes had run out (hence his killing routine is finished).
