The only issue I can see if she found out - is if she somehow links Lundy's killing to Dexter's negligence.

Was his death due to Dexter's negligence though? Had Dexter killed Trinity, would his daughter have no more reason to kill Lundy? All of Dexter's victims simply disappear and are never seen nor heard from again (except for those who were found during Season 2). She likely would have shot Lundy whether or not Dexter killed her father. After all, they rarely spoke, so she wouldn't have even known he was missing. And Quinn is the one who let it slip that Lundy was searching for The Trinity Killer. So it's really more Quinn's fault than Dexter's. She might even be willing to forgive him, given that his "hobby" had avenged the deaths of not only Lundy, but also Doakes, and had saved her from his brother, Brian.

Dex found him AFTER Lundy was shot though.

Regardless of whether he found Trinity before or after Lundy was shot, Deb was shot by Trinity's daughter, not Trinity himself. And since all of Dexter's "playmates" simply disappear, Lundy and Deb could still have wound up getting shot. So Dexter was in no way to blame for Lundy's death. It was the daughter seeking her psycho daddy's aproval that killed Lundy, not Trinity.

My bad! Totally mixed up the order of events!

Even if you hadn't, it doesn't change the fact that Dexter's negligence had nothing to do with Lundy's death. Rita's, but not Lundy's. Maybe Deb will blame Dexter for not killing Trinity and letting Rita die, even though she and Rita weren't exactly close. But blaming him for Lundy's death barely makes sense in even an emotional "the man I love is dead and I need someone to blame for letting it happen" kind of way. If anything, she'd probably blame the whole FBI for Lundy.

Yes, but this is Deb we're talking about here. She's a black hair job away from being an emo at the best of times lol.

I'll give you that one. But she's also a detective. She might freak out, blame Dex for Lundy's death, then calm down and realize how illogical that is.

Yeah I know, was just trying to save face with a joke lol.

I got that. I was just "thinking out loud", so to speak, on how they might handle Deb's reaction to Dex being the BHB should she find out.

Shame. Tonight is the season premiere, and this thread is at the end of page 2!

I'm kinda glad the episode did not leak I get to be surprised. So excited for tonight!!!

I still am sad that dexter and lundy never got the proper show-down they deserved.

Well consider this thread bumped. And everyone, do please be careful with the spoilers this season. I like to be surprised when I watch Dexter on DVD next summer.

Well maybe Dexter will find a new nemesis for this season. Maybe a hot young profiler that is eager to prove himself/herself to be as good as/better than Lundy (think Spencer Ried from Criminal Minds). He/she has the skills and raw natural talent to do it, there just has to be a reason to be ijn Miami and investigating Dex.

Actually I would have preferred Mandy Patinkin against Dexter (Gideon)

Which is kind of ironic considering the actor who played Gideons nemisis (Frank, a serial killer in criminal minds) played Lundy in dexter XD

I don't have Showtime. :csad:

I will have to catch this episode tomorrow through some secret means. :ninja:

I will be seeing you all in about 3 months. I am going to try my best to just let the episodes stack up on my DVR. & then watch them all at once. I don't know if I will succeed, but I am bookmarking this spot none the less.

FREAKIN Promos man. They spoil everything. A good friend of mine was getting into Dexter and was working his way through season one. He was trying to catch up on all four seasons as fast as he could so he could jump into season 5. Then he walks into a store and hears on the radio, "MY wife is dead in a bathtub... NEW DEXTER TONITE ON SHOWTIME!!". Now its all ruined for him. I mean i get the fact that your trying to advertise and build hype for a show but to spoil something so critical blatently like that on a radio promo? Thats messed up.

Actually it would be more messed up if that were their promo for the season premier of Season 4. All of the episodes of Dexter have been available on DVD for years. Even Season 4 has been on DVD for nearly 2 months. It's hardly the radio station's fault your friend is a Johnny Come Lately. Had he jumped on the band wagon a year or two ago, he would have nothing to complain about. The radio station was operating under the assumption that everyone who's a fan of the show has already seen Season 4, since it's been out on DVD since August. Totally reasonable IMO.
