When I was a kid I seen something in the sky that wasn't an airplane, blimp, or balloon during the mid-80's when there were a bunch of UFO sightings in the lower Hudson Valley in NY.

I never understood why people are quick to deny something could buzz our planet/ dimension. Close minded people, I guess.

The only reason I'm asking is because I base my judgment of the truth of ghost/alien stories on the feet.

But what if the aliens don't have feet? I believe in life on other plants, but not the ones that are grey with big black eyes and flying saucers. As far as we know they're microscopic or can't be seen by humans or something.

Roswell is real, I have seasons 1-3 on dvd to prove it. I know a lot of people think that the show was never really on, or maybe they forgot about it, but I think it was better then Smallville and really was taken off before it's time.

Listen we're talking about the "Events" most closely associated with the crash landing of alien spacecraft. I believe in the possibility of alien life but I don't believe in the US government's ability to keep that secret for more than 50 years. We couldn't even keep torture a secret for more than 2 years, I doubt we could do it with aliens.

The closest stars outside our system are between ~4.7 and ~11.7 light years away.

Our sun is ~8 light minutes away.

Light travels at ~186,000 miles per second.


Even if there were advanced life on a planet in any of these "nearby" systems - and they somehow managed to create a system that could allow them to travel near light speed (and, conversely, some method of braking) - the likelihood of their arrival being covered up so quickly and quietly is absurd.

Thinking that there is extra-terrestrial life is one thing (and not too outlandish, either), but to believe THAT is another thing entirely

The town of Roswell is real. As for the supposed "crash landing", I have yet to be convinced that it was of alien origin.

While there is a possibility for extraterrestrial life, it's probably more on the smaller side of the scale. The more advanced life that one may see portrayed in science fiction probably only exists there.

I'm incredibly skeptical. I'm not skeptical of extraterrestrial life, but rather the veracity of the supposed crash landing.

It is quite real. I've been there a couple times. Never saw any UFO's or spacemen. But I did see some strange looking folks at the local K-Mart, but I think that's normal no matter what town you're in.

Was it from aliens? No, probably not.

I'd say it was more likely a government test vehicle that crashed, and to protect the secrets from getting into the wrong hands...the Russians or whatever...they spread the alien rumor and then "covered up" the alien part very suspiciously so everyone would concentrate on the alien aspect instead of the new spy technology or whatever that just crashed.


I will break from others though and say that IF there is intelligent life out there, there is no telling what technology they'd have since they could theoretically be millions of years ahead of us and have the ability to teleport or have a base on Pluto (to those of you who need every notion spelled out for you: I dont believe aliens are visiting earth and rounding up rednecks...we dont need a ten page threadjack about "my crazed belief in aliens")

You asked "are we real or fake"? I said "yes".

For me, the fact that we are is proof enough of being real. At the same time, there exist works of fiction that have a "real world" setting. In those fictional works, we could exist as well
