Discussion: FOX News

do you really believe that all the media is biased towards liberals except Fox?

For the 2008 election, yes...most definitely. It was disgusting to see the major news networks, major newspapers, and major news sites that are supposed to be neutral favoring Obama/Biden over McCain/Palin.

I don't get why Superman, you for clarification, are on a giant crusade against Fox News. MSNBC are partisan hacks just like Fox but there aren't people in here constantly going after them. We all know Fox and MSNBC are hacks...we don't need to hear it every other post. It just seems like a defense mechanism for liberals in today's political climate.
Why should we go after MSNBC in the FOX THREAD? If you want to b**** about MSNBC I believe there is a MSNBC thread, Go there and knock yourself out. I talk about Fox in the Fox thread because Fox is the subject of the thread. :whatever:

And this ideal that it's all about the fact that they have a different "viewpoint" from the Left and so we just don't like them is just wrong. It's not their Right wing "viewpoint" that's the problem, It's the lies and the manipulating of the facts to a point of dangerous hysterical proportions is what we have a problem with. And to suggest that CNN and MSNBC are anywhere near as bad as Fox has become is a fantasy. They may lean Left but they don't hold fundraisers for candidates, They don't hold rallies for the Left and they haven't given two potential presidential candidates their own shows to campaign freely without paying for air time. All things that Fox has done.

We condemn Fox in the Fox thread because we have good reason to. If any of you want to do the same about CNN or MSNBC then go to their therads and go wild but as long as there in a Fox thread we are going to hold Fox accountable for the wrong that they do.

Don't like it? Don't read it.

The right wing has Fox News and talk radio.

The left has the rest of the major news outlets. And of course Hollywood, but they don't really count since I consider them to be faux-liberals and not true ones. The way they manipulated the rise of Barack Obama, when there were so many better qualified Democratic candidates who paid their dues (Hillary Clinton, Bill Richardson, Joe Biden) is utterly disgusting. And now we have a President who's lack of true political experience is showing.

Holy spark plug batman.

I bet OLBERMANNNNNNNNN really did a big hit piece on Fox recently. :awesome:

Well someone make one and go crazy, But to complain about us showing how wrong Fox is in the Fox thread is just rediculous and old.

Every time someone shows or says something that shows Fox in a bad light the people on the Right never fail to show up and say the same old thing, "Well MSNBC dose it too," It's not only getting old but it's also a childish attempt to change the subject from the almighty Fox to something different other than what Fox is doing.

Like Bathead said "bad behavior needs to be called out regardless of whether or not "others do it, too." and that is what we are going to do in the Fox thread whether the people on the Right like it or not.

I read it plenty much when I go through thinkprogress and George Soro's MediaMatters. Just I find it amusing that - if topic was the basis of importance in politics here - Fox News and Sarah Palin trumps the economy. Hell FoxNews thread has more posts than the economy. Even to some extent the healthcare thread with the "historic ObamaCare" and all it's realized consequences. Hardly any replies after all the ridicule the opposition got, such as posters calling those against it "behind the curve" and racists.

ooh Soros the socialist boogeyman. he's not a drop in the bucket compared to Murdoch.

seriously if you don't want to read bad things about Fox then stay out of the thread and quit trolling.

I didn't know this was the I Hate Fox News Thread.

I guess I just make a thread titled: The MSNBC Discussion Thread, where everyone can bash MSNBC and then if anyone with a differing opinion comes in they are trolling.

There you go again, This has nothing to do with whether or not we like Fox or not. This is about the wrongs that Fox has done and is still doing. For you to try to simplify this to "Well you just hate Fox" is not only insulting but dead wrong. Our feelings for Fox has nothing to do with the fact that Fox has lied and manipulated facts to a point that it's becoming dangerous.

And your attempts to simplify and deflect the subject from what Fox does to something completely defferent is really getting old.

Ummmm....no. This thread is about Fox News in general which includes beyond just the absurdities the channel portrays. This is the thread about the general discussion of Fox News which includes valid criticism, defending the channel, their programming, crew, and overall everything about the channel.

This is not simply just a bash Fox News thread. Just like you have the right to criticize Fox News for what they do (and they certainly do a lot that deserves criticism), others have the right to defend the channel.

Ooooh, well....

As I said before, no one watches MSNBC so no one really cares what direction they lean...

I just watch bits and pieces of all of them and make up my own mind, thinking for one's self is underrated.

MSNBC is the second most watched news channel. CNN, which is attempting to develop a moderate reputation, is getting its handed to it by MSNBC.

EDIT: And it has a lot of momentum for it.

As much as I hate FOX news, I would hope that both sides could have a health debate here. I heard a saying that goes something like "if two people agree with each other then one of them is unnecessary". If all this thread becomes is a 'I hate FOX' thread then whats the point of having it?

I usually don't care for political ads since they have a biased point of view 99% of the time. The only ones I truly enjoy have humor. The Sarah Palin Mama Grizzly one was funny. Below is a recent one I saw on Fox news. Hopefully, it won't offend anyone who likes Obama. I thought it was pretty damn funny and would have been laughing if Bush had done the same thing when his approval ratings went into the toilet.

What do you mean 99% of the time? Their purpose is to do that completely :awesome:. I don't watch any channels that they are on, because by the fact that they are even tolerated, it proves how many people are serious and critical about how they vote.

The rest of the major news outlets are so afraid of being accused of left wing bias that they indulge every right wing "controversy" instead of shutting them down and separating fact from bs. I fail to see how being complicit in many right wing smear campaigns makes other media "liberal". Yeah, there are some liberal voices out there, but they pale in comparison to the rights domination of media.

You think that there were more right wing voices in the media during the 2008 campaign? Seriously???

*spits milk out onto screen*

yeeeeaaahhhh....

so you think Media Matters is anything compared to Fox News?

Or Moveon.org? Murdoch has a media empire. Fox News ,Fox Business,WSJ,NYPost,Weekly Standard and others. and those are just his U.S. political publications.

He is one of the top 100(or there abouts) richest men in the world.

He can make the puppets of the GOP dance like no other.

Dude you had a senile old man and the crazy woman from Fargo running. The way the GOP does their primaries they finish up quick.
so the story was who was going to be the Dem nominee. When Palin was first announced and before the market crash you guys were up in the polls.
but after the market crash and the old man's on again -off again campaign and his flip flopping around ,combined with Palin's inability to answer questions and her subsequent removal from the public eye killed the lead and gave it to Obama. I'm pretty sure if you go back and check MTP and all the other shows were still booking more republicans than Dems.

It's just that Palin and McCain were a train wreck.

I've seen political ads on many local channels and cable ones. I must say that's a lot of channels you don't watch. Do you mean that you have Tivo?

I mean that it would be nice to see political ads with agendas that aren't 100% in favor of one political party or the other. In a perfect world we would have political ads that favor a more moderate viewpoint.
