That he does. He's usually saddened/angry when doing it to Dems, but not completely unsurprised at their spinelessness, and baffled/full of contempt when he skewers the right. He, Colbert, and Maddow are the only places on TV where I get my news. I watch Stewart and Colbert every night, Maddow every now and then.

Now he could be responsible and be centrist but like Fox, he has found his niche and he is making a killing on it. He speaks his mind and clearly shows his opinion and the man is making a fortune doing it so there is no reason for him to stop or neuter himself because he isn't non partisan.

I would say the major difference is that Stewart recognizes that he's entertainment more than actual news. It's why he goes after the major news networks for their bullcrap.

And while Fox News and MSNBC don't go after people who share their viewpoints, Stewart is an equal opportunity bullcrap caller. He's called out on the bullcrap of both Bush and Obama, of both Republicans and Democrats. That's why even though he is liberal, the man is a freaking genius.

Why, because she is liberal? Other than having an obvious political bent, she is NOTHING like Fox News.
 
Stewart only calls out Obama when Obama isn't doing what Stewart thinks he should be doing...that includes not being liberal enough. Which is 100% fine because he is an entertainment program, an opinion program.

But, too many people fail to realize that Hannity, O'Reilley, Beck, etc. are opinion programs. They don't sit at a desk and read today's headlines.

When people cannot make that distinction then that is a sad thing for us as a society.

Rachel is smart, very smart. But, she is partisan and she hosts an opinion program. She goes after Dems for not being liberal enough. As Hippie said, Beck and all those people go after Republicans for not being conservative enough. She reads the news and then gives her opinion, she is a partisan. She is in the same league as Beck, O'Reilley, Hannity, Olbermann, Shultz, etc. Although I will say she is probably the smartest of the bunch:o
 
As far as I know, she never lies, misrepresents the facts, or tries to stir up hatred. If she gets something wrong, she corrects it or apologizes.

But the truth is that asides from Fox News and talk radio, there really is no outlet for conservative news media. That is why Rupert Murdoch founded Fox News. And honestly, I think that's where the "Fair and Balanced" slogan comes from because in their eyes it's fair that there is now a major news station that is slanted to the right. And it's balanced because Fox News is just so freaking big that it balances all the others (NBC News/MSNBC, ABC News, CBS News).

And yes the others are leftist, it's just the degree of how they portray their slant. NBC, ABC, and CBS still act like news organizations that are run by leftist, but professional, anchors, while MSNBC has taken the route of a less-sensational, leftist Fox News with it's programming dominated by Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, and Rachel Maddow, along with the Lawrence O'Donnell and Ed Schultz.

Really? What about all the conservative newspapers WSJ,Mooney Times,Conrad Black's papers,Richard Mellon Sciafe's papers, and all the magazines. The "Christian Broadcast network" is also a right wing news outlet.

but as far as cable news networks yeah msnbc is liberal in their afternoon /evening slots. conservative in the mornings.
Fox is far right all the time. Excepting Shep but he's only on for an hour and he's pretty straight up in the middle not really a liberal.

but the degree to which they will spin and distort is egregious. to the point of downright lies. i.e. the thing about the Mosque funding. They know who that "man" is. They just don't want the audience to know because it wouldn't fit their narrative.

See this is what I dont get. We can agree that MSNBC has a liberal slant, mostly with their evening opinion shows, and that Fox is a wholly conservative network. But because MSNBC has a few liberals somehow theyre the liberal Fox News!

No one reads anymore. Most newspapers and magazines are going the way of the dodo.

She skews facts because she presents them in the way in which she believes them to be true. She isn't non partisan. She doesn't deliver a story from a neutral standpoint.

If I see an odd object in the sky and I believe in aliens, I am going to report it as seeing an alien space craft. If I don't believe in aliens and I see the same object, I am going to report it as likely a government craft from an air base that is 30 miles away.

I don't think in reality you are suppose to spend more money than you have coming in as income or stifle the private sector that has a history in being more productive and innovative than the public sector.

I think there needs to be a healthy marriage between left and right policies. Both ends only polarize everything and screw things up. So I hence forth create CNN:awesome:

Fox injects opinion and bias into their news programs too. Just look at what they cover,what they don't cover and which angle they approach the issues from. It's not any different than the opinion shows really. Oh sure it's not as blatant and belligerent. more subdued and subtle but it's there.
 
The conservatives that did that didn't do so with the mantra of conservatism. Bush was highly and rightfully bashed for TARP by the right.
