Since you want to allow personal pleasure to be the bases of living life and not morality and being upright, then why not just allow serial killers to murder and rapist to rape?

... yeah you do realize murder and rape are actions of harm towards another without consent... right? Two people in love consenting to being together is incomparable.

You fail at all forms of logic

"Oh look, someone that's living their life in ways that are counter to my own appears to be quite happy... let me just go inform them that they're tantamount to rapists and murders, so I can make myself feel superior."

Congratulations. Your life is garbage.

I take it...hope...Superboy is banned...??? I ignored him, after seeing some posts in other threads...I'm not dignifying his posts by viewing them...

You don't know a thing about morality, and you're a fool. Goodbye.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You can't help who you're attracted to, Superboy, but it doesn't mean you're a bad person. I'm sure a few years of therapy will help you come to terms with who you are. Stop the self-hate, okay?

Funny, I know various gay people who don't go around verbally attacking complete strangers. I'd say they know a little more about "living upright" than this POS.

I saw this post on being liberal that I follow on Facebook, it basically said:

"Gays don't have an agenda, they don't go around recruiting people for their cause. That's religion you're thinking of".

Haha so true.

Wait, are you saying that there isn't a gay agenda?

I always just assume that anyone who is vehemently homophobic like this Superboy is, is usually a self-loathing closet case. When they're this hateful, they're obsessed with homosexuality for a reason (and it's not religious).

People like Superboy are not religious. Calling them Christians is an insult to Christians.

7th Circuit has ruled that Wisconsin's and Indiana's ban are unconstitutional.

"the only rationale that the states put forth with any conviction ... is so full of holes that it cannot be taken seriously"

US Appeals court strikes down gay marriage bans for Wisconsin and Indiana. Since this was an appeal for earlier state court decisions to strike down the bans, there's no more appeals or stays, and gay marriage will be legal in those two states bringing the total to 21 plus DC.

On the flip-side, in bad gay marriage news, a Judge in Louisiana bucked the national trend this weekend and upheld the gay marriage ban there.

That actually makes 2 breaking the trend. Tennessee and Louisiana (not a shocker about either)

it also appears Same Sex Marriage will be heading back to the Supreme Court again... kinda getting harder for them to avoid at this point.

Damn, Posner is ripping into the States.

"...invented an insidious form of discrimination: Favoring first cousins, provided they are not of the same sex, over homosexuals."

"Homosexual couples do not produce unwanted children; their reward is to be denied the right to marry. Go figure."

btw, no stay was issued on the ruling.

Since this was a federal appeals court, would a further appeal or stay even be possible? I guess if it was presented to SCOTUS.

Personally I don't get how the people who said marriage should only be for conceiving children and that's why they are against gay marriage can be against polygamy. Even if you use the bible as your basis of marriage then you should be pro polygamy.

Religion and Logic typically are opposites. Backing any logic with the Bible usually ends up quite illogical.

Whether or not people want to have kids should be up to them and not up to the government. And it's not as if you're asked before you get married whether you intend to have children.

I will simply say this this. Yes, I am a christian and no I don't agree with or support the homosexual lifestyle and never will. However, that doesn't mean I hate gay people or go around spewing gay hate. I simply tolerate it, and I when I encounter a gay person I treat them with respect as long as they treat me with respect. I don't judge or condemn anyone because no one is perfect and I do have two family members that are gay, but I stand by my beliefs. I do believe that marriage is something between a man and a woman, but if people choose to live the homosexual lifestyle they can have some form of being able to take care of their significant other, maybe not marriage par say.

Just FYI not all christians who disagree with the homosexual lifestyle are hate bigots or go over board with homosexual bashing and stuff. That just a small few who just happen to make the most noise and give us all that reputation in society.

I just love how being gay is a "lifestyle" with my man servants, luxuries and robin leech narating my everyday activities. Come join me on my drapery picking wont you??

Might not make you a bigot... but sure does make you ignorant

How is that ignorant? Ignorant is going around spewing hate towards people for their lifestyle choices. And yes, homosexuality is a lifestyle in same way being straight is a lifestyle. Like I said, I tolerate homosexuality but that doesn't mean I agree with it. I stand by religious beliefs in the same way people who chose to live their life anyway they see fit. I don't push my beliefs on anyone or going around spewing hate or judging or condemning anyone. I don't see how that makes me ignorant.

As long as he doesn't express them offensively (and IMO he hasn't), ShadowBoxer has as much right to his beliefs as anyone else.

If you also see being straight as a lifestyle, then fine. You're equating the two, and I can respect that.

For me, lifestyle implies choice. Like spideyboy said, you can choose to be vegan. You can choose to live an urban or rural lifestyle. You can even choose your religion.

But I don't think being straight or gay is a choice. It's the way one is born. I never chose to be straight. I just am. I didn't choose to start liking girls rather than boys. I just always liked the girls. So I don't see it as a lifestyle. It's literally a part of me.
