fine, let's cite wikipedia then:

a non-clinical term[3][4] used to describe the fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.[

Yeah, the THIRD usage of it, where primary usages were fear and aversion.

why is homosexuality immoral though?
can any of the people against it, tell me?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phobia

I particularly like the part detailing it as an anxiety disorder, which is NORMALLY characterized by irrational fears.
You should probably read that article the whole way through, because it goes on to say that homophobia is simply a term to denote discrimination, rather than a clinical phobia which would be an anxiety disorder.

I had the luxury of taking AP Psych courses that went in depth of such topics.

Agreed. I pretty much only read it up to where it labelled it an anxiety disorder, and clicked the link, rather than alter it to my liking.

To your friends, I would say (as crazy as this may sound in this day in age): Confess your sins, turn away, and God will deliver you from temptation. Live a in accordance with God's will. Get together with some friends in a Bible study, and basically just follow the Lord. It's truely amazing what God can do and does for people who are lost in lives of sin. I speak from experience. I spent the last couple years of my life worshiping many "false idols" I guess you could say. I became obsessed with various bands, pornography, movies. I tell you, I've never felt so empty in all my life. But, a long time ago I gave my life to Christ and in doing so He made a promise to never leave. I chose to live that life. I chose to entertain different religious ideas. But, He was always there. I could feel it. It was like I was a little kid trying to rebel against whatever my parents told me. To be honest, I became very disenfranchised with other Christians because of their behavior. It was such a dark place to be in for so long. I could see no reason to be alive. I started to believe in evolution... and that's when things really started to get dark. It became a new religion, except this one did give me a reason to live. It said there was no meaning to anything. Everything was random. Nothing had any purpose. But, obviously God called me back. I basically begged for my life one night. It was pretty awesome. I really don't know why I'm writing all of this. I guess its sort of a mini testimony. Anyway, I'm done.

A person can be a good Christian and a homosexual at the same time. The logic that Christianity and the afterlife are preserved solely for heterosexual Christians is a crock of crap. This is the fundamental flaw at the center of the gay marriage debate: detractors attempt to use Christianity as the only alternative to being gay. Well, believe it or not, there are gays who follow the Bible. Some follow it more and are better Christians as a result than those heterosexuals who refer to themselves as such.

There are Christian denominations which accept homosexuality, and would be willing to marry gay couples if the law permitted it. Using religion as an argument against homosexuality is low and uneducated. Come up with something better.

If you read an earlier post, I said it sometimes is a choice, and mainly not a choice. He means in the media aspect that many shows will incorporate (ESPECIALLY in America) lots of homosexual themes and characters that build up the entire show in some instances, does it ACTUALLY force it on people? Only in an entertainment sort of way, and it's probably that in which he meant to imply, rather than forcing people to be gay or whatever it is that most people think he meant. As for the last question, I must've missed something, because I didn't see that.
It may seem like a lot to you, but gay characters in American media weren't exactly common pre-Will and Grace.

People who believe that having gay characters in movies/television/books/whatever is all a part of the liberal medias master plan to force the gay agenda on America need to realize that uh....there are gay people all around us in every day life. It's not the media "forcing the gay agenda on people", it's the media attempting portray life the way it really is.

If marriage is supposed to be sacred, why are we as a country allowing our 50% of our married citizens to get divorces? Why are Christians not protesting against celebrity marriages?? These things hardly ever last, and some are over in a matter of days. If anyone should be held accountable for destroying the sactity of marriage, it should be celebrities, not gays.

I can agree with that, and I support that.

You say "destroying the sanctity of marriage" like marriage in this country was still sacred.

And really, who gives a **** about the sanctity of marriage? It's really not a big deal in any way, unless you have some fantastic illusions of marriage holding together the fabric of civilization. In which case, the rest of us would chuckle at you for living in a dream world.

If Britney wants to marry some random hick in Vegas and divorce the dude 24 hours later, who gives a ****? Society isn't exactly crumbling because Bennifer v.1 didn't last.

Why not? How would it affect you if two smoking hot girls got married and moved in next door to you and kept having lesbian sex in their back yard? Wait, nevermind, that kind of answers itself.

But seriously, how would a gay couple getting married have any bearing on your life?

It wouldn't.
But quite honestly (this will come across as small minded i know) I just don't like the idea of men being legally married.

Actually, my point was that marriage is no longer sacred. Yet, when Christians try to legislate a Constitutional ban on it, they claim it is to protect the "sacntity of marriage". And I was wondering why they don't jump on celebs as well.

I'm not antagonizing you, I'm just looking for your honest opinion.

Nothing against the two Playboy models though, right?

Yeah, I wasn't really directing my post at you, I was just throwing that out there as a general point for people to chew on in this discussion. Sorry if I didn't make that more clear.
