Police were absolutely useless. They did nothing and just stood outside the school for over 40 minutes. Shaun King posted a video of parents calling out the cops and some parents were willing to go into the school themselves to do something but the cops didn’t allow it

Not to mention, doing so would probably get more people ie themselves unnecessarily injured or killed if you get people thinking they're John Wick in these sorts of scenarios because they've got a pistol.

Even the police don't seem to receive enough training with firearms & the type of situations that require their proficient use without asking teachers & other school employees to take on that sort of responsibility.

Republicans act quickly to put in laws for stuff that they supposedly feel threatened by. CRT, Don't Say Gay, peaceful protests outside SCOTUS judges' homes...

But they continually scream "stop politicizing this" to divert from the issue about guns and mass shootings. Because if they constantly get pressured about this (as they SHOULD), they might have to act against the gun lobbyists' wishes. And to them, blood money is worth more than the lives of innocent children.

I've been alive long enough to realise that no amount of death and bloodshed willl change a Republican mind. The same talking points the right-wing was using after Colombine are still being used today. It doesn't matter how many children get massacred or how many officers die trying to protect children. Our Police officers are outgunned but they still lean into the argument that good guys with guns will save the day. The right-wing only care about 3 things. God, Guns and Money
