Discussion: Guns, The Second Amendment, NRA - Part II

jesus f***ing christ

the Right Wing terrorists calling themselves "Pro-Life" is hilarious in the darkest possible sense

Nobody who is for "GUNS EVERYWHERE" and "NO MASKS EVER" can dare call themselves pro-life

NY Daily News - N.Y Gov. Hochul vows special Albany session to address SCOTUS conceal carry ruling

The 'historical tradition' test is the same nonsense that found its way into the leaked anti-Roe opinion for them justify everything reverting back to the 1790s and earlier.

President Biden has also issued a statement:

Rs won't be satisfied until we are all dark red in the blood of their firearms and twisted ideology.

This chart from 2020 is firearm deaths, not including injuries. (Source: CDC / The number of deaths per 100,000 total population.)

Whoa Texas is only orange!?

Maine's AG did something similar when SCOTUS struck at them. They just changed the focus and said essentially, 'we can keep doing this', by changing the words of laws every time the rightwing circus monarchs in robes issue their bad takes.*

CBS News - Maine religious schools might not participate in state tuition program, despite Supreme Court victory

Religious schools got what they wanted when the Supreme Court allowed them to participate in a state tuition program.
But the state attorney general said the ruling will be for naught unless the schools are willing to abide by the same antidiscrimination law as other private schools that participate in the program.

* trifecta not available in all states

I fully expect this to be overturned by the SC but I’m happy they are trying

Aceves's father later told investigators that his son has a history of mental illness, had stopped taking his medication years ago and had spent time in a mental health facility on two occasions when he was 16. Family members were worried when they learned he had purchased a gun. (Federal background checks conducted in Texas do not flag mental health admittance for juveniles.)

Sounds exactly like the NRA and Republicans. They don't care about children.

One of these things are the most valuable thing to Americans and the other is an object... Which?

Given you are asking what Americans think, that is a genuinely tough question to answer these days. I would like to say most citizens think the gun is an object but politicians think women are but there are enough people who support that I'm no longer sure.
