Abbott tweeted that the gunman failed the background checks in place and he obtained the gun illegally.
That will always be the argument, people can get them illegally so why make harsher laws? But then that's the strawman for anything illegal.
Sharing guns with people who can't get their own sure sounds a lot like that scary socialism the GOP is always warning us about.Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Dan Crenshaw clash over whether people should lend guns to friends

Why does Crenshaw look like a Bond villain? Yes I understand he lost it on duty, but that picture by CNN makes it seem that way.
It happened one time in one hundred instances. Of course they are going to cling to it.I really hate when people use rare instances of people using guns to defend themselves as some sort of justification for America's obsession with firearms.

What does this have to do with being able to get a gun legally, by passing a background check? Crenshaw was talking about giving guns to his friends without any supervision. Why should that be legal? If you can't own a gun legally, if you can't pass a background check, why should someone just be allowed to give you one? And if the answer is, "well they didn't have time to get one", they sure as hell didn't care enough to get a gun in the first place.Something that happens every day isn't rare.
An otherwise defenseless woman used a tool to bridge the gap in strength disparity between her and the man/men attacking her. I figured you would of all people would like this story.
I feel like this pretty much summed it all up:How Often Do People Use Guns In Self-Defense?
It's rarer by a lot than the inchoate types that fall under the Pro-Gun side would have anyone believe and the idea that on the streets and town of the USA that people all over are either flashing heat or firing weapons constantly in self defense is frankly, a moronic assertion.
Does it happen? Yeah. Not in either the numbers or frequency some would have you think.
Waiting for the inevitable counter that has to include a some how vast yet secretive conspiracy to hide the apparent Punisher wet dream that is happening all over nation.
