I’ve been reading Dark Crisis lately and Ultra Man would be fascinating, it might be fun to lead with the multiverse stuff this time around

Eh. I feel like people are going to be so burned out on multiverse stuff by the time this comes out (if they aren’t already) with everything the MCU is doing, the Spider-verse saga, and the Flash movie. I think DC should gradually (VERY gradually) build to something like Crisis so that when it finally comes out, it feels fresh and different as opposed to what everyone else is doing. I also think Ultraman, while an awesome character, can wait. We’ve had a lot of evil Superman archetypes lately.

It clearly needs a core villain, with a presence in each film, that really drives home the point that it will take all the heroes to defeat him.

Maybe the villain will be humanity itself, by that I mean how jaded we've become, unwilling to help people getting robbed and beat up on the street.

These new heroes come along, and kill criminals over the most minor of crimes and we/they cheer.
That would be alot for a boyscout with old fashioned ideas to overcome.

I like the idea of The Authority recruiting Superman, a young hero still finding his way. But when he sees their willingness to kill, he stands up for truth, justice, and the American way—just like his father taught him as he grew up on the farm.

The Authority spin-off can be them grappling with their own morality, and maybe uncovering the secrets of their black ops / shady government past.

Oh that’s kind of fun for two reasons.

1. the authority kind of have the timey wimey time travel thing so supes would still be the first “official” hero.

2. it would encourage him to build the justice league, to be the light version of The Authority.

that’s probably my favourite pitch that would bring in the Authority.

also, everyone wanted Glenn Howerton in as Lex a while ago but I actually think Kaitlin Olsen would be a really fun Livewire. Like, not the big bad, but a warm up big bad to give the audience a bit of action as Superman practises and amps up the threat level

Plus if they do a superman versus the authority thing they could build towards Warworld for a sequel

We are obviously getting Lex but I would like to see Superman tackle some smaller foes in a prologue or see them used as henchmen or pawns for Lex. Characters like Conduit, Parasite, Metallo, Barrage or riot.

Since Gunn himself said all the films will be connected, I'm assuming ( I know I know ) that means other than the one off villains we see in the individual films, they'll be one main big bad they all will eventually have to take on as well.

Place your bets.
Darkseid
Brainiac
Mongul
Trigon
Someone else.

I'd actually like to see Conduit in a movie one day. He's got a cool outfit and a personal connection to Superman in the comics.

That's an inspired pick. I've seen her name tossed around for Lady Shiva but I can totally see this too. I had Aubrey Plaza for livewire. I might just like this better.

I love Ultraman and the Crime Syndicate (check out Forever Evil if you haven’t already. It’s amazing) and Superboy Prime is my favorite DC villain. That said, Snyder has soured me on evil Superman for the foreseeable future.

Good heavens I hope that they don’t copy the Marvel model of the single big bad that everything leads up to. It worked once for them but I really want good standalone movies more than the gimmick of a shared universe.

The Center.
Lol. I’ve read New Frontier multiple times and I still don’t understand what the Center is supposed to be.
Of course, that probably has a lot more to do with me and my lack of intelligence and attention span than it does with Darwyn Cookie’s writing or the character.

A sentient landmass with superpowers *shrug*.

At the very least, it’s different to anything the MCU or DCEU has done. Plus, watching superheroes fight dinosaurs will be cool.

I am still a lot like Tom Hanks in Big talking about the building that turns into a robot:

If they do a woman Brainiac, Hong Chau would be incredible. She was amazing in z the Menu and no one can do that cold logical spitefulness like her

I'm not totally sold on a gender bent brainiac, but I could see the case of brainiac being backed up into multiple bodies. And he uses whichever form he sees fit.

Livewire : Pom Klementieff

Honestly, while I do like Livewire, her design as a blue colored electrical power based villain, makes her awfully close to Electro from Amazing Spider-Man 2. I don't think it would work.

That's a fair point but Livewire is a far, FAR more interesting villain than lame Electro. Infact the image on the left is from Superman adventures #5 where Livewire was shown to be an extremist femnist who believes herself to be the antidote to Superman's symbolic toxic male chauvinism. It was truely a fascinating take, which made the character far more interesting than her otherwise bland appearances on STAS.
