good

he's been trying to milk the deadpool train for years, guy thinks he's this all-knowing being who everyone should listen to. Guy is a hack.

Yeah I've interacted with him a couple times and he's an a-hole riding off the wave of getting ridiculously lucky in the right place at the right time like 30 years ago.

But what makes it twice as annoying is that all the stuff people love about Deadpool (humour, personality etc) he didn't even create

I have a hard time believing Marvel/Disney will do anything with X-Men. Don't get me wrong, if the deal goes through I understand that it could happen. I even understand that eventually it will definitely happen. I just don't see it happening any time soon.

Part of me thinks Disney will use the X-Men to headline their streaming service. With a decent budget, X-Men would be ideal on an episodic story structure. It's basically a soap opera as it is.

I heard the Spidey boards were really bad upon Homecoming's release, and during casting. If they were, I expect the X-men ones to be 10x that.

A large majority already wanted MCU-MEN for a long time now.

I'm ready!

They arent spending all this money to do nothing with the franchise

We'll see X-Men appear in video games again once Disney acquired Fox and got all the rights back. Marvel vs Capcom 4 will probably have Cyclops & Wolverine again.

“Fox sold a lot of stuff including the F4 and X-Men rights to Disney/Marvel...get over it!”

:sly: I can't wait.

With the right budget that would be nerdgasm: time to develop the full roster... :hmr:

I think we need to slow down on fan ideas for right now. Those other movies are still going to get released.

are they? :sly:
Yes. Deadpool 2 and New Mutants are already in post-production. Those films are coming out. Also, if the deal is finalized, it will have to go through government oversight and approval. Things won't change right away.

For example, the Disney/Marvel deal didn't get officially completed until early 2010. Paramount still released Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger. Not quite the same, but they aren't going to throw all those films in the trash.

If Disney/Marvel still want to release them and not cancel them, then the best thing they can do is end Phase 4 prematurely and go right into an event film which merges universes in 2021. What that film would do is have the two most popular superhero movie universes collide on screen in a move which would one-up Avengers 4 and completely destroy whatever DC has planned. Secret Wars, Secret Wars 3, Age of Apocalypse and House of M are all strong possibilities for the story. Virtually every Marvel superhero would take part in the biggest film of all time. And it would be a chance to resurrect dead characters in a new soft-rebooted universe and recast anyone who dies in Avengers 4 alongside Emma Frost, Red Skull, Archangel and Havok.

2022 would be a whole new Marvel Universe. A soft reboot for both the MCU and X-Men universes to put every X-Man in the present day alongside the Avengers being recast in a way which makes sense. Previous films in both universes still happened in broad strokes but also in ways where it's best to not think about what changed. Red Skull is back and the justification is simply, "reality got messed with." What we get is an MCU where mutants have always been around thanks to the universes merging (which explains why we heard nothing about Mutants for three phases) and the X-Teams will be able to interact with one another since they won't be separated by time. Everything wrong with both universes is fixed in one film. The MCU's disposable villains problem and the X-Men's timeline problem are both solved while all the dead heroes make a comeback.

We're already getting the X-Men in comic-accurate costumes in Dark Phoenix. That appears to be people's main gripe with the Fox universe. Other people grew tired with Singer and he's not only not directing any of the 2018 films but he's also fired from Fox and I can't see Disney working with a poster boy for Hollywood sexual abuse with a decades-long drug problem and a tendency to turn up hours late on set. Rebooting means either putting the X-Men on TV or setting back spin-offs like X-Force and New Mutants by at least 5 years and likely 10 while rehashing the same stories instead of moving the X-Men forward. We got an X-Men reboot already and it was called Days of Future Past. Rebooting again less than a decade later would be redundant. Nobody loved either Amazing Spider-Man film. People did love Deadpool, Logan and four of the six X-Men films and audiences were divided on Apocalypse and The Wolverine. We have all of two bad X-Men films with The Last Stand and XMO which have both become completely non-canon. I'm literally burned out on reboots and really don't care to see more since reboots are among my least favorite things in life. Fantastic Four needs a reboot though since the Fant4stic universe is unsalvageable.

How many great video games has Disney Marvel made since the MCU started? Cartoons, too, for that matter?

All of one great video game and that had a server shut down a few days ago. Two good cartoons in Wolverine and the X-Men and Avengers; United They Stand.

I'd be fine with that. In fact, I would prefer that to movies.
Also, the TV shows and movies are connected so you could roll individual X-men from TV in the movies.

You say the general audience didn't love the Spider-Man Amazing series.
Two movies pulled in 1.5 billion. How many solo superhero franchises have pulled in more with their first two movies?

Disney canceled WatX right after it bought Marvel despite the 2nd season going into preproduction.

It will see the light of day. But it won’t be seen by many. I mean, directed by Simon Kinberg?

I want it to just happen already. I love the Fox X-Men but I’m fine with a change and step in a new direction. They’ve had a good run. Give me a proper Rogue and I’m content lol.

This is great and we may see the benefits of that earlier than in films.

Those are diminishing returns from the Raimi series, and from TASM to TASM, so noramlly that is an indicator of a declining fan base.

I just want to know what the people arguing that this deal would be a bad thing for the entire movie industry (Twitter is full of them) expect us fans to do. Write angry letters at the Murdochs? Seriously, what?

Insult excited fans all you want, keep telling us that we "just don't understand the implicashuns!", none of that will stop the Murdochs from selling.

ASM 2's numbers made it clear that the general audience didn't care for this version of Spider-man as much as anyone thought.

Yup. Movies >>>>>>> cartoons or video games, any day of the week.

:funny: Exactly.
