Hmm, I think heard something similar one time. Where could that have possibly been? It's only risky if it's dark and edgy.

Yeah but that was a situation between two separate autonomous studio entities. Now because Disney is going through the process of acquiring the assets, things like that will be in a holding period. They will not be allowed to make a move like that until government approves the sale.
Disney and 21st Century Fox have made a sale for Disney to buy all these assets. It doesn't make sense to make a separate deal that supercedes that. What if the government blocks the deal? Then Fox still owns all those film rights.
It's not that simple. Spidey for Sony/Disney is nothing like this at all. It's a totally different matter.
A lot of people here are excited. That's great. I'm excited by all the possibilities of this as well. But this has to go through its regulatory process.
This period has to run its course before we can see the media really take shape.
There will be some immediate effects. Yes this does need to go through regulatory oversight, but Fox will start transitioning right away. This is what companies do when these deals get made, they have to be ready and running when the actual transition occurs, so they will decide on department restructuring, personnel and business unit alignment. They have to identify areas where there is redundancy, and unfortunately people will be identified for layoffs, severance agreements will be made, etc.
All of those things take time, so yes this is going to take a while to finalize, but it's not like these companies are going to sit around for the next 6-12 months twiddling their thumbs. Re-orgs will surely happen right away.
That doesn't equal FF or Mutants in films or even post cred scenes in the immediate future. If for nothing else than Fox is releasing three other Mutant films. You don't want to confuse the audience. Plus there are casting calls, directors to talk to, fitting these characters into what the next big MCU arc post Thanos is... So it's gonna be awhile before these MCU versions show up.
In the relentless drive to eliminate competition, big business has an insatiable appetite for consolidation. Disney and Fox have spent decades profiting from the oligopolistic control that the six major media conglomerates have exercised over the entertainment industry, often at the expense of the creators who power their television and film operations. Now, this proposed merger of direct competitors will make matters even worse by substantially increasing the market power of a combined Disney-Fox corporation. The antitrust concerns raised by this deal are obvious and significant. The Writers Guild of America West strongly opposes this merger and will work to ensure our nations antitrust laws are enforced.
Well not really. It's the original X-Men pretending to be mutant hunters working for the government. But it's still the X-Men and still about mutants.
I just don't want the MCU to become completely overrun with mutant stories and become the equivalent of the Fox cinematic universe. That's just transferring everything from one studio to another. I want to see variation with other types of heroes and characters, not everything mutant related.
Psh whatever. The concerns this article raised are of no concern to me.
Risks like X23, New Mutants, Gambit or Multiple Man might not happen under Disney? Oh nooooooo Im so sad /sarcasm
No one wanted those movies anyways
Start with the big guns, establish them. Then get to the riskier characters.
You really don't seem to get the picture at all. Or whatever you have gotten is completely wrong. It is totally ok for individual agreements be put in place between two parties on "certain" assets. especially on the creative side, while a merger deal is being put through the judiciary. That is allowed on almost every democratic country's judiciary in the world.
It's only risky if it's dark and edgy.

Lots of people wanted them. The Mutant roster is HUGE, with so many unique teams and characters that can hold their own like Gambit, New Mutants, X-Force, and Madrox. Now we have to get reintroduced to the "big guns" AGAIN, and forget about the unique characters telling non-traditional superhero stories.
I agree. Make him like the centerpiece of the X-Factor movie. But a Multiple Man movie was just a weird idea.Madrox was a bad idea. He should have been reworked into X-Factor.

Then why not just make an X-Factor movie? Not really. It likely was serving as a precursor to X-Factor
Then why not just make an X-Factor movie?
Didn't PAD's X-Factor also start with a Madrox mini?
I'd rather see an X-Factor movie with Siryn, Strong Guy, etc. IMHO Madrox is not as interesting by himself.bc it would be about him and not about X-Factor. Like his mini, X-Factor would be the final scene to set up the spinoff

Madrox as lead with 2 future members as supporting cast. X-Factor adds 2-3 more and its more of an ensemble
Fox has ruined all those villains you mentioned. The only villain not foiled by Fox is Magneto and they made him into an anti hero and not a real villain.
MCU has been doing pretty well with villains lately. This year, I think Ego, Vulture, and Hela were all terrific. Next years Kilmonger and Thanos look to continue this streak as well.

Then it sounds like it really should just be X-Factor to give some spotlight to those other characters. He wouldnt be by himself as mentioned in the post you quoted
Fox ruined Mister Sinister, Kang and Annihilus?
