In this case it doesn't work for me.

While I enjoyed Bill Murray and Christopher Walken's takes on "The Bare Necessities" and "I Wanna Be Like You", both of those songs are absolutely dwarfed by Scarlett Johansson's performance of "Trust in Me", which is played over the credits but ought to have been included in the film itself. It's one of the best versions of a Disney song that I've EVER heard (and this includes stuff from the Broadway productions of The Lion King, Hunchback, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Mary Poppins), and is absolutely haunting and beautiful at the same time.
If you didn't stick around to listen to it during the credits, find a way to hear it, because it's absolutely brilliant (just like the movie itself, honestly).
Might get a best song nod. Who knows.
Haven't seen the movie yet, but wow, her voice is actually perfect for that song.Sort of a spoiler of course but if you want to hear ScarJo's Trust in Me...

Favreau belongs in the Spielbergian pantheon I feel. Elf, Cowboys and Aliens, Iron Man, and this are all so radically different yet feel like stuff he would've done.
Oh wow I thought Giancarlo Esposito was Bagheera
