Just got back from it and it was really good, they made it a bit more dramatic then I expected while still being really funny. Cheating, death, lost limbs, not you're usual happy ending.

This was pretty good overall, loads of humor (although I'm not completely sure all of the humor was intentional)

The duet with the 2 prices was hilarious and had the audience cracking up. There was even applause at the end of that scene, I can't recall the last time where there was applause in the middle of a movie.

The actress who played Red Riding Hood was brilliant, I hope she lands more roles in the future.

Just got back, and I loved it. I feel like it was just about the best adaptation I could have hoped for. The cast was spot on, imo. I was really bummed when I heard they had cut the "Agony" reprise, but in the context of the film I admit it would have hurt the flow and was a wise decision. The only real disappointment I can think of was that I found Bernadette Peters to be much more entertaining as the Witch, but Meryl still delivered a great performance, so I can't complain. Blunt, Kendrick and Pine were the standouts, imo. Pine was channeling more Shatner here than in either of his turns as Captain Kirk, lol.

Ok, after second viewing I loved it even more. Got to digest it more. It's beautiful to look at, the score has never sounded better, and the cast (the ENTIRE cast) is beyond excellent. Fantastic adaptation of one of my favorite shows.

I am not into musicals but I am willing to give this movie a shot. My cousin said that this was pretty dark for a Disney movie and the little red ridding hood part has creepy sexual overtones. Anyway, I might check this out!

Reading audience reactions online makes me realize why they had to change the ending for the LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS movie back in '86.

My friends don't think like that. Les Mis was just a sad experience for me. I was the only person in a theater full of couples and families. And the movie wasn't very good.

It's supposed to be creepy. It's skewering fairy tales more or less and showing how disturbing these situations are.

Saw this with my younger cousins and they (well, more like, the entire theater) ate it up big time. IMO, it's one of the most enjoyable musical film adaptations with a stellar, lovable cast. My favorites were Blunt, Kendrick and Pine. My god, Pine... What a riot!
