Disney sets Rob Marshall to adapt "Into the Woods"

Oh please. Unless this film has a full on love-making scene between Pine and James Corden, an eventual marriage between the two, and ends on them adopting Little Red Riding Hood together, then it's straight enough. :o

Don't you dare. Your horrifying fan fiction has already ruined Godspell for me, don't you do it to this one! :argh:

Short little interview with Billy Magnussen (Rapunzel's Prince) and Mackenzie Mauzy (Rapunzel). Includes two short little clips (one between the Witch, Rapunzel & Rapunzel's Prince, the other with the two Princes with the Baker's Wife watching)

Just got back from it and it was really good, they made it a bit more dramatic then I expected while still being really funny. Cheating, death, lost limbs, not you're usual happy ending.

I'm actually seeing this a second time in an hour. Loved it.

This was pretty good overall, loads of humor (although I'm not completely sure all of the humor was intentional:cwink:)

The duet with the 2 prices was hilarious and had the audience cracking up. There was even applause at the end of that scene, I can't recall the last time where there was applause in the middle of a movie.

The actress who played Red Riding Hood was brilliant, I hope she lands more roles in the future.

Just got back, and I loved it. I feel like it was just about the best adaptation I could have hoped for. The cast was spot on, imo. I was really bummed when I heard they had cut the "Agony" reprise, but in the context of the film I admit it would have hurt the flow and was a wise decision. The only real disappointment I can think of was that I found Bernadette Peters to be much more entertaining as the Witch, but Meryl still delivered a great performance, so I can't complain. Blunt, Kendrick and Pine were the standouts, imo. Pine was channeling more Shatner here than in either of his turns as Captain Kirk, lol.

I need to see this asap.

I loved it. It was really well done. Bought the deluxe soundtrack, and will definitely get the blu-ray.

Ok, after second viewing I loved it even more. Got to digest it more. It's beautiful to look at, the score has never sounded better, and the cast (the ENTIRE cast) is beyond excellent. Fantastic adaptation of one of my favorite shows.

I am not into musicals but I am willing to give this movie a shot. My cousin said that this was pretty dark for a Disney movie and the little red ridding hood part has creepy sexual overtones. Anyway, I might check this out!

Reading audience reactions online makes me realize why they had to change the ending for the LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS movie back in '86.

No matter what you film / people are stupid

I would really like to see this. It pleases me to see people here liked it. However, no one I know wants to go with me. I will not have a repeat of seeing Les Mis by myself. God no.

I think you can go to something like this on your own. If it's theatre based you're expected to be more cultured than your friends. :o

My friends don't think like that. :o Les Mis was just a sad experience for me. I was the only person in a theater full of couples and families. And the movie wasn't very good. :csad:

I went by myself to this.......and Les Mis, but me and these two girls bonded during that film over hating it.

Disliked this movie, it got really creepy in the last 1/3 of the movie plus every song sounded the same

It's supposed to be creepy. It's skewering fairy tales more or less and showing how disturbing these situations are.

So is all the singing in this film good? Or does it have some shaky performances like Crowe in Les Mis?

My whole theater lost it at "Agony".

I've heard that Pine says he based his performance on Richard Burton. I can see that!

Saw this with my younger cousins and they (well, more like, the entire theater) ate it up big time. IMO, it's one of the most enjoyable musical film adaptations with a stellar, lovable cast. My favorites were Blunt, Kendrick and Pine. My god, Pine... What a riot! :hrt:

Ah, great to hear!!! I feel like so much of the GA isn't getting it. Nice to hear that's not entirely the case.
