really??

was the U2 song shortened/sped up/gutted??

U2 didn't play with an orchestra and Bono sang it rather slowly, so it didn't feel like the song was shortened.

Man the YouTube comments on the Let It Go video are getting rough and trollish. Some people were not happy U2 didn't win.

Ya can't make everyone happy....

I was a huge U2 fan and even went to their Zoo TV concert years ago, but I don't really think Ordinary Love is such a great song. If it weren't attached to the Mendela movie, then it might not even have been nominated imo. I for one am glad that it didn't win the Oscar for Best Song, and it at least got a Golden Globe during this awards season.

Kristen Bell joined in the fun of Idina's name butchery...

I love Kristen Bell and her tweets; she always have a strong opinion or a humorous one and she's quite enjoyable to read, not to mention that she's beautiful and has an amazing set of pipes to boot.

LIG got the same treatment most Oscar songs get. They're usually shorter. It wasn't treated unfairly.

And I've heard Idina sing it that fast at other events. At that Frozen event a few weeks ago with the cast she practically flew through it.

The acoustic version they did on Jimmy Fallon's show a few weeks ago was great, but otherwise it's pretty forgettable.

I'm a big U2 fan, but I was rooting for Let It Go all the way.

People enjoyed her performance, and compared to the first performance I saw...what was that "The Moon Song"....that was just weird.

From Rent? MOO WITH ME!!! :oldrazz:

That was "Over the Moon"...which, if you saw that apart from Rent, it's weird. If you saw it with Rent, it's still weird, but really funny.

I saw on of Idina's last performances in Rent, and instead of the "Thank you!" she says at the end of Over The Moon, she gave a very enthusiastic "Thank you BABY!" which got a big laugh from us Rent regulars in the front row.

What? nooooooooooo....lol...."The Moon Song" from the movie "Her" I think.....it was some chick and a dude with a guitar last night and it was like she whispered the song in his ear, instead of singing it to the audience.

Oh, see...that's what I get for switching over to The Walking Dead for part of the show last night. :funny:

I didnt find much wrong with her performance. The instruments were too loud but once she gets going. My God she can belt it out. It's incredible to watch and listen to

For people who think other songs should've won Best Song instead of Let It Go (which I strongly disagree), I've read this article before the Oscar that pretty much summarized what I felt about this category:

Who Should Win: “Let It Go”

“Let It Go” should win because it is the one selection that delivers on an array of different emotions — it will make you cry, it will lift you up, it will make you smile, and it will get stuck in your head. Each of the other nominations can do one or two of these things, but “Let It Go” gives you them all in a way that avoids being cheesy and becomes something more than memorable – it is simply powerful.

very true.

Elsa conveys different emotions through the song as she goes through her transformation. ( and that's one reason why speeding it up and chopping it up does a disservice to the song ).

it may not be the most "lyrical" or "pleasing" song ( it's not Part of Your World or Beauty and the Beast ).

but it's a damn powerful anthem!!

LET IT GO!!!

Congrats, Frozen, for joining the $1 billion club and winning the Oscars' Best Animated Movie and Best Original Song. I'm hugely impressed. Will there be Frozen 2? I hope so. :yay:

So Frozen is 'The Lion King' of the Disney Revival period. Does that mean the next movie will be the 'Pocahontas'? :wow:

The Lopez's did mention Frozen 2 in their acceptance speech.

whether it was in jest or a hint........who knows.

I will only accept a short where Elsa meets a prince or princess. :o
