Disney's live-action "Mulan"

Yeah but they need this to do well in China to recoup the budget. It’s better for her to just stay apolitical in these situations.

All of their stars could use the same media coaching as they need all of their movies doing well Internationally. The problem is if Disney starts policing their talent & starts trying to control what they can or can not say whos gonna wanna work for Disney ?

Working for Disney trumps your freedom in some cases. You see what went down with James Gunn last year.

It seems odd though how Disney is choosing those battles. Police one police them all at this point just look at ESPN revolting. Perhaps its about time Disney started treating all talent equally ?

Everybody is replaceable unless they have enough tenure or the role specifically calls for that actor or director. That is usually the modus operandi.

It will be interesting to see how the WB handles the Jason Momoa situation & if hes breaking any contracts not showing up at Conventions etc. Next gen Hollywood is gonna be

Interesting

As next gen seems to be speaking out more at the various Studios. Hollywood will crash sooner or later either way with Disney being the only big gun & the rest end up getting quick streaming releases

Hollywood over all is creatively bankrupt

Sometimes, it's best to just say nothing, especially when you've got the Mouse on your back.

You don't say anything, you can't say the wrong thing.

Last thing Disney would want is to be dragged into this mess.

Boycott Mulan is trending on Twitter now so.....they are gonna jump on her ass pretty quick. Which is sad because she seems like a sweet chick but....it's Disney.

What are they going to do? Fire her?

When will celebrities learn to stay away from social media. Then again, Scarlett Johansson is not on social media and she still manages to get into trouble, so...

It will be funny if sooner or later Disney eventually has no choice but to start telling anyone they hire to keep any & all opinions to themselves

Not fire, but her rep may be kinda ****ed.

Why would she care? She’d just get work in China. It’s no loss for her financially. Her not being tied to Hollywood gives her the opportunity to speak her mind. And I’m not sure what Disney can do about that.

By the way, if anyone is searching the #boycottmulan hashtag just be warned there’s some pretty awful images going around.

It’s a business end of the day. And so unless it makes them money, then it’s best business practice for them to avoid wading into murky political issues.

It will be interesting how Disney starts reacting if someones political views does eventually start harming Box Office results. But I feel like Disney is simply not at that stage yet

By the time the movie opens, all of this will be forgotten.

Its her opinion though & besides Disney stars say stuff that angers people one way once a month at this point
People are entitled to wrong opinions of course, but that doesn't mean others have to go along with it. And when you are cheering on police state crap that is getting people injured and killed, we know who is wrong.
