I understand that but whether they're born in China or they're of Chinese descent but born in America or England, I don't really see why it would matter.
I actually think Mulan (and Hercules) are the two most underrated Disney scores. The songs are actually brilliant.Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they cut the music from this one. To me it wasn't particularly iconic or essential the way it was with Menken's stuff in the earlier films (or the Elton John Lion King songs, for that matter).
I'll admit I enjoy "I'll Make a Man out of You" and "Reflection" well enough, but I honestly don't even remember any of the other songs.
They'll probably only bring back that song for this version, to be sung over the end credits by flavor of the month pop star 2018.
I'll admit I enjoy "I'll Make a Man out of You" and "Reflection" well enough, but I honestly don't even remember any of the other songs. To be fair, it's been a good long time since I've watched it, but I just remember really missing Menken on that one. Goldsmith's score was good though.
And I totally agree about Hercules.
And it had James Woods playing Hades, which is just awesome.
^ How old is Mulan supposed to be at this point? late teens- early twenties?
She can pass for 20's.
