Yeah, I fought Nelo Angelo, then all exits are closed.

*Edit*

Never mind. I want to smack myself. Didn't think I could reach the platform.
How did you defeat the shadow beasts early on, I think in like Chapter 5 or 6?

Like a *****. I just stayed away and unloaded Ebony & Ivory on it, until he stopped in his tracks and exposed his vulnerable core. I attacked that with my sword, then repeated the process 2 more times until it was finally dead. Didn't think you meant that shadow creature, otherwise I would have told you sooner.

Oh cool thanks. Ill try that next time I get a chance to use my PS3. Im sure once i get that part, there will be another one soon to follow that will make me want to break my controller

BTW, Ive been meaning to ask you, but what is your avatar from? Who is that?

That's Nobuo Akagi, from the Sentai Parody Hikounin Sentai Akibaranger. Hikounin meaning Unofficial, because they are not part of the main Sentai series. But the show was produced by Toei. It's really hilarious and the guy has cracking me up just from the faces he makes.

My post from the Power Ranger Thread.

I recently stumbled over Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger. Has anyone else been watching this? It's a series about 3 Otaku, who basically live in the real world, where Sentai is just a TV show for kids and they transform into heroes and fight monsters in their head. Their fantasies are powered by their delusions. It's a hilarious show that parodies the Sentai format and Otaku culture and makes fun of all the tropes. While the regular Sentai is more aimed at kids, the Akibaranger target teens and adults. As a result you have some more than usual naughty scenes and even drunk heroes at some point.

Bravo to what was said there. Unfortunately, there are people over are too who behave like that.
I loved the previous games as much as the next fan. I hope I love this one too and I most likely will.

Actually, the article is dead wrong.

Fans don't like fakeDante because he isn't the Dante we have grown to love. Imagine replacing Solid Snake with one from a different dimension, or Commander Shepard, or Nathan Drake. We are already invested in those characters, we want to see their story.

Story is as important to a video game as gameplay.

This game did nothing to further the story of DMC. It did nothing to further Dante's story. The story was utterly useless. A game with good gameplay is useless if what you do has no aim or motive. Just as a game with a good story is useless if the gameplay is so terrible it cannot be played.

Like I said, the fans have spoken and this game will sell poorly and hopefully Ninja Theory goes out of business or distances themselves from DMC.

I was completely against and hailing it to be horrible before it even came out and I can now say that I was dead wrong. Dante is still pretty much Dante. Sure they changed him a bit but the actor playing him is doing a freaking terrific job. The voice acting is great and the story so far has me hooked.

I'm eating a ton of crow right now.

Solid Snake was replaced with Naked Snake and while some are upset that Kojima no longer focuses on Solid, but rather the other Snake, the response to Naked has been ovewhelmingly positive with many more loving the character and the focus.

Nothing that King Madness is saying is really correct anyway. Most of the fans that had reservations have admitted that they were wrong. Even on sites like Kotaku where commentators are super critical they've admitted that their initial thoughts fell to the wayside when they actually started to play DmC.

Lets let the sales do the talking. I'm gonna love rubbing it in your fat face too. "Nothing I said was correct". LOL. We'll see who gets the last laugh.

Dayum son them's fighting words Dayummmmmm.

dang you really sound bitter. Its not a competition. The ones that are winning are the ones who are enjoying the game and loving the product that they paid for. If it sells as poorly as you want it to in the future, who cares? It doesnt take away from the satisfaction and fun that one is getting out of this. Talk about some serious trolling

Of course you think it is dead wrong. You're one of those ''********'' fans that the author of the article refers to. And the proof of that is that you quoted me. My post bothered you. You're among those who can't learn to let go. You're among those feeling so hurt over a video-game that you let it bother you enough to not give a chance to the actual purpose of it, which is to play.
There is no fake Dante, there is an alternate Dante, because this one isn't related to the other one in the same story. This isn't going further with the story of the old Dante. It's creating a new one.

You're even going as far as saying that a story to a video game is as important as the gameplay is... and you call the article wrong? Oh, how said we were as childs when we only played 8-bit games and didn't even know there was a lick of story behind it...

Those playing the game are having a blast. Those who can't let go of the past are crying in a corner. It's not about sales, it's about having fun with a great game. They won that.

With me, it's an artistic matter. I like the way everything is designed and used in the older games. With DmC, I just don't find myself allured to it like the old ones. The old ones were more...flashy I guess. That's really the best way I can put it. I just like the look and feel of the old games universe more.

Sorry but you are dead wrong. Just because you don't like something doesnt everyone isn't suppose. I've never heard so many people admit they were wrong than I have with this game. It's going to sell very very well and there'll be a sequel maybe a few more, its time to deal with it

Jeff Gerstmann responding to a Devil May Cry fan:

Seemed... relevant.

in a way it's relevant and in a way as the producer Alex Jones of capcom said they were doing the sequel and dropped it cause they changed their minds . But there was one planned.

I completely see where you are coming from, but have you played through this game yet?

IDK, i guess its easier for me to speak cuz i was one of the converted. Hell, go back to the start of this thread and i think i was yelling things like "THIS IS NOT DANTE". Now, after having spent a few hours with it, not only can i say this is a great interpretation of the character, but this game as a whole is one of the slickest games iv played in some time. Having an absolute blast and outside of the old DMC games, i dont even really care for this type of gameplay.

I have not played it. Because my reasons for disliking it are outside of gameplay. I acknowledge that the actual gameplay does look good. But the DMC series had more things that appealed to me other than gameplay. I know saying you dislike a game without having played it makes your argument moot. But as I said. it's an art thing. But I'm not trying to argue anyway.

so, is the PS3 framerate as bad as reviewers are saying??

I was planning on getting it for PS3......but I might wait till a price drop or until the Vergil DLC becomes available to all.

Its not horrible. It did not distract or take away too much from gameplay. Some of the cut scenes look real choppy and there has been a few glitches, freezes and audio drops that were far more frustrating though. Dont know if X Box is having some of those problems.

Keep talking. Sales baby. The failure will be of THQ udraw proportions.

Fact of the matter is. If DmC fails in sales, Capcom will most likely retire the franchise. If it succeeds, this new DMC universe continues. So either way, the old DMC series ends forever. Just because DmC fails, doesn't mean we get the old stuff back.
