Do-over?!

I'd prefer two totally different Hulk movies.

One Hulk movie for pretentious film snobs and the other for real Hulk fans!!! :hulk:

Hopefully by Hulk comic fans that includes you. Remember not all fans want the same thing. Or have you forgotten? You and blind_fury might end up having conflicting views on which Hulk look and Hulk personality from the various Hulk versions over the years(and i'm just talking about plain old savage here). :marv:

I still stand by my first post, there is no start over. It's not because I fear a comic Hulk or something. But pureful financial decisions for Marvel, it'll be totally suicide for Marvel to waste the start the first film gave them. Why waste 30mins(and how ever millions that costs them to film) or so of origin when they can just do a full length sequel with no burden? And start the film by heading straight into the action. It's not like the audiences will queue up to watch another damned origin film.
If you want them to start over and be loyal to the comic, wait 10-15 years and it'll happen(and by "it'll happen" I really meant "it might happen, maybe"). Just like I have to do with X-men. :(
Still, i'll be happy either way(with Hulk). It's so hard to screw Hulk up, it's not like X-men with all the different characters(including those that aren't Wolverine). Although you still have to hope whoever makes it atleast grasps characters as they are in the comics. Rather than what they think should be on screen for the purposes of what the producers and studio want...
[Ions continues to ramble on to himself]:o

So you hated X3 as well Ions huh, what a ruination of the Pheonix saga huh? I think marvel will be comimitting financial suicide if they do another Hulk origin movie, it wont be better than what we have got, no way. By doing a direct sequel they will get continuity, were as remaking it will jut confuse people IMO.

I think The Hulk looked great in Angs movie. It's his height I have an issue with. What I hope for this next try is a good story that is consistent with the comic. Not one that borred the hell out of the masses.

I really do not understand you guys. Ions, you were there at HM.COM. Did I or did I not support Ang and all the changes before the movie came out? `I said “let’s wait and see." I also said things like “Oh boy is this going to be great!” Then, after the movie came out I kept quite. Saying I suffered for post traumatic Hulk syndrom. My bubble had burst. I was let down but never said the movie sucked but that I like it and loved parts of it. However, a funny thing happened on the way to the sequel (3 years and counting) I realized that because of the movie “Us Hulk Fans” got, after waiting 20 some years, it was doing what no foe could do to my hero. It was killing him. I ended my silence and spoke my mind and was deemed a troll. :( Meanwhile Avi was running around saying all the positive things, a sequel was in the works, lighter, more smash and blah, blah, blah. What he was really doing was scrambling. Trying to put a positive spin on a movie called “HULK.” Right before this latest revelation he was signing Angs praises saying how proud they were of the movie. Now he’s saying,“It’s a “do-over”. I loved the HULK movie, it was just a different approach, and it wasn’t exactly the comic. We want to be much closer to the comic. It’s what we would rather do” Does this sound like someone who "LOVED" the movie. NO, What he’s saying is that I have no backers (Investors) for a sequel to “HULK” so we’re going to have a “DO-OVER.” When I read something like this I say to myself, why isn’t there a sequel to a movie they’re so proud of? In my opinion it’s because no investors will invest their money in a sequel to a movie that did not do what it was meant to do. Remember the phrase “Tent Pole?” Well if the movie “Hulk” was suppose to be a “Tent Pole” I think everyone went running when the tent fell down.
As a long time Hulk fan I have and will continue to say that parts of Angs movie were excellent. However, excellent parts of a movie don’t get sequels. From where I’m standing this is the Hulk last chance to have his own movie. It’s also Avis last chance to right the ship. I wish him luck

[Cracker Jack continues to rant to himself wishing only for a good Hulk movie in his lifetime] :(

For some reason my freaking thread was locked that said "makeover NOT do-over". So FYI I have a source that told me Incredible Hulk is NOT an origin film. Same source that told me about the revelation of the Spidey suit, and connected to the one who told be about Favreau doing Iron Man well before it was annouced.

Like this isn't obvious anyways.

So you mean that there just gonna make it closer to the comics in Hulk 2? If so phew.

What's your source though?

Hopefully the next director will read some Hulk books. Maybe even look at this book if only to pick up a few pointers..

I honestly can not tell you but it was a real sigh of relief on my part. That's not to see the origin won't be touched on in the film but it won't be a origin film like the first one, and from what he/she knows it won't be a retelling of the origin either.

oh no please don't do this. Ang's movie wasn't that bad. I deleted my huge rant and condensed it to this instead since it's just not worth getting worked up over, but why oh why is the hulk movie given such a rough time... it's no catwoman.

Name one superhero movie based on a comicbook that absolutely and truly is a perfect adaption of the source and I'll join the "new hulk movie" party with some of you all.

Imagine the horror if this one actually sucked more than the first one. :(

*Sigh* Once again, this is not bad:

Total US Gross$132,160,047

Production Budget$137,000,000

Prints and Advertising Budget$35,000,000

Worldwide Gross$225,600,000

The Hulk should be able to do better than "not bad."

There's a difference in a movie being bad and the box office being bad relative to what it should have been. Hulk was a great movie with a mediocre box office because it was too dark and complicated for a 300 million dollar hit.

From Moviehole:

Q.Are they going to recast “The Hulk”? Have you talked to Eric Bana? - Christof
A. I have talked to Eric. I do believe they’re going to go with a new actor for The Hulk. Sounds like they might be chasing an unknown

They're making a freaking Dukes of Hazard 2  Dukes of Hazard 2!!!! Let that sink in for a second *que elevator music*................................................................................................................................

Now, ask yourself why and how that movie gets a sequel and the Hulk doesn't. :hulk:

Well until Christof starts working at marvel, I'm not taking his opinion(he quotes nothing, this is just his opinion) with anything more than a grain of salt. He doesn't even give any hint of when Marvel said anything about looking for an unknown either. Which means hes just concluding that because Eric hasn't been contacted yet that he's not up for the role, ergo a new actor. If Eric actually said this, he'd have something to quote. In which case he'd create a news item out of it, or update the latest Hulk news with it.

So I think its all bunk, along with the "remake" concept. No one's had Avi qualify what he meant. Also Eric won't hear crap till Marvel has got a script and has designated a date for start of production. Very few actors know about whats going on in a production till the people actually making the film have firm dates and funding in place.
And this all might occur after they announce the director. If this film is gonna be any good they had better a director in asap.
But Penn said he hasn't even started on the script a few weeks back. I think everyone is just in a mad rush to jump the gun.:doom:

Please no.... Why do they have to destroy more Dodge Chargers for that garbage

^ They're not doing another origin film. They're giving the franchise a "make-over". It looks like they'll be recasting...but maybe they won't...but an entire origin film isn't happening.

Their effects were cartoony and not believable, IMO. I see them as being terribly overrated, and WETA has far surpassed them in recent years. Just my taste, though, I know loads of people still like ILM. Hulk looked like a big video game character, hardly ever convincing, and his movements were just bland.

Good lord. How do you think WETA achieved what it did. On the backs of ILM who pioneered all this with Jurassic Park. For the time, the Hulk effects were amazing. Today they would be ten times better.

True, Weta was set up with ILM people at the beginning and uses ILM technology but years later after watching what they can do and knowing a guy who worked there that particular crew of talent wheter affiliated with ILM in california or not, are far more superior in everyway.
I bet they would have made a way better model of Hulk and animated it WAAAAYYY better.
If you watch the making of Hulk you can see Ang Lee acting out Hulk scenes. WTF!!!? You think Peter Jackson would have done that when there are incredible performing artists like Andy Serkis available. Hell no!
Hulk is Savage, Ang Lee is NOT, nor can he ac that way. And as a director he was NOT the man for the job. Good director, BAD for this kind of movie.
Hulk Bad.
