Because whenever it is documented, people call BS.
Well, yeah, people are skeptical. One could say that the documented evidence has been intentionally ambiguous in order to keep the skeptics from losing their momentum.

I mean, I would love to, because the Trek fan in me would just have a geekasm over it... but another part of me says that's almost impossible.

Yes. There has to be some intelligent life somewhere in the universe.

theres no way we are the only things in the entire universe. Earth is tiny im sure there are other galaxies with creatures on it. Maybe they are human too. :)

I think the whole fact that our universe is so big we have no idea how large it really is, is almost prove in itself to provide evidence that aliens are real

Not counting the fact some stuff looking back into our history is almost impossible for humans to do, which I think we can say aliens could have helped or done

I definitly believe in life on other planets. There is no way i can logically look at the immense size of our universe and truly believe that we are the only life in the entire thing.

On a side note, I also think that the belief that climate/atmospheric conditions must follow what we think are necessary to contain life as naive. In my opinion, not only could life primarily composed of non-carbon elements exist in other conditions, but there is also a very high possiblity of completely different elements that can exist outside of our knowledge. Meaning not only could we never visit these planets, but their inhabitants may also not be able to ever interact or survive in the conditions that we do. (hope that made sense)

there talking about a flying disk story right now on the news.

really wht are they saying?
is it official/or looks official?
it's over now and it was just talking about strange metal that fell into a field, I guess it's official but it happen a long time ago and they were just talking about it for some reason.

Ah, you must mean Roswell.

Of course I do. Humans are living proof...duh! Although I don't believe in "Flying saucers".

I believe in aliens because it doesn't make sense if we're the only planet with intelligent life out there.

I used to say "The Universe is so large, it seems unlikely that life wouldn't arise anywhere else..." and so on. But that's BS. Unlikely? I don't know what you'd base that probability calculation on (there isn't even a good basis for a qualitative estimation).
Since we still don't fully comprehend what it takes for life to form, and since we only have the one observed instance of life (Earth life)... it's a pretty poor sample space to make any kind of judgment from.
It's possible (which doesn't necessarily mean likely... or unlikely).

Do I believe aliens have visited earth in their flying saucers or whatever...? No.

90% of the boards population believes in aliens!! Finally! i am no longer thought as being fiction!!

Yes i 100% believe they exist; you ever hear of the Drake equation, its mathematically proven that we are not alone in this never ending universe, the whole universe expands more and more everyday, from what we can tell. and for the non believers out there, don't you tell me that they don't exist.

have they visited earth before, who knows. we could be billions of miles away from any signs of intelligence, maybe they wonder if we exist.

only time will tell., but hell even far into the future i doubt well see any, but i still strongly believe there out there..

Yeah. I've heard of the Drake equation. Pretty much every variable in it is unknown, and can be varied within several orders of magnitude. Depending on what you plug into the equation you can get a Universe literally teeming with life, or one where we're all alone (at least at this point in time).
So the equation in itself hasn't proven anything, though it is interesting.
