Iron Man 2 Do you like the Whiplash costume?

I like it. Very counterpoint to Iron Man's look, which is very clean. Whiplash looks grungy and totally badass. I also believe we'll get upgrades later in the film.

Well it's not much different than some of the costumes in the comics. Whiplash isn't a guy in a suit of armor, he usually wears typical comic bad guy spandex or whatever you want to call it.

As long as Favreau ups the action and puts those whips to good use I think a lot of people that have been complaining about his look are going to be surprised...hopefully.

Exactly the way I feel. Like it's made from junk. I can see this guy smoking a cigarette and casually whipping IM's ass.

There is no way in hell that Favreau would release a close up shot of the final version of Whiplash for the first pic.

He looks mean in that costume. Totally digging it.

You know.. you could remove the whips and put him in Max Max 4 and he would fit...
This is a compliment and I applaud the design choice...

It cant be the final look. As everyone has said, he has too much skin exposed. There is no protection for him against a man that is a living weapon.

I don't get this complaint.
Whiplash has never worn armour or any sort of special protection as far as I can remember.
I personally like not having him fight another armoured guy, which seems to be what everyone else wants. Another armoured guy is boring. as someone else said this also provides a nice opposite to Iron man in a way.

I dont think its the final version of the suit isnt this version of whiplash suppossed to have elements of crimson dynamo? I can see this being a mark 1 version then getting some armor later on in the flick, so he doesnt look like a snipers wet dream.

Rourke did say he would be in a suit showing skin.

But I hope there is more to it than this. Seriously, this does not look like a suit that could give Iron Man a go...

I hope that it's just the early look for Whiplash, and he will get progressively stronger by adding more armor and weapon to his outfit. Then again, Iron Man fought some of the lamest-looking villains in the comic book, and this Whiplash actually looks better than many of them.

The hero's alway look pretty close to the original design but when it comes to villains it seem like they refuse to follow the CB.

I doubt it is;

Even if they keep the same basic look (leaving certain areas devoid of armour/maybe even exposed), they're gonna tart it up a little. I'd be very surprised if there wasnt some kind of shell/protection for the cables/mechanisms on the arms and chest.

Well yea, it is definitely inspired by it and similar to it.
