The Six are Fleetwood Mac fans...?!

[oh wait, I should not be admitting in public that I even get that reference... :D]

LOL! Clever girl, you know your music ;)

Although it is true, after about the 5th betrayal, you'd think they'd get the picture: don't trust this guy! But they all do... except Vulture, and does that keep him from joining the current mission? Hell no it doesn't.

You know why they keep coming back to work with Ock?? Because they know he always plans BIG. And they want in on that kind of action.A piece of that pie etc etc :D

I wonder what kind of lighter Ock uses? Utilitarian Bics? Zippos... for those occasions when you just have to light up on top of the Empire State, and you KNOW what the wind must be like there.... or does he use some fancy Japanese thing you have to refill.... questions, questions.

LMAO!

Sym you so crazy :D And I thought I Silver S was the only one who pondered the smallest little things about Ock ;)

You remember in the Castro novel, when he was up on Empire State with Mysterio delivering the Oltion device during a snow storm, and then later when he confronts the Gentleman in his jet.

Ock says: "If you think it's cold out there, you should have been at the Empire state building.Penguins would have cried. If there's any consolation in the webslinger still being alive after all these years,it's in thinking how uncomfortable he must be in that glorified underwear".

Ock is so malicious in his thoughts.Gotta love him.

Pfft, I'm a Fleetwood Mac fan, and not scared to say it. :shifty eyes:

What kind of lighter? My darling Sym, he obviously has a lighter installed on one of his tentacles, one that can go from a tame little flickering candle to a raging inferno torch. ;)

...Ock is thinking about Spidey in his underwear.

;)

But I'm allowed to think of other men in their underwear!

And Octavius isn't?

He may be a tyrant himself, but he happens to live in a free country, and being an ex-con (a legal limitation on civil rights) doesn't deprive him of the right to think about men in their underwear. :o

:wolverine

hey, you all can think whatch you want, spidey is ALWAYS in his spandex, i'd say that is close enough.

So I guess that makes me guilty ;)

What...the...f**k???

I thought that Dr.Octopus`s costume in Spider-Man 2 was actually good.It reminded me of his classic comic appearence,a fancy suit. But i personally prefer Ock`s outfit from Spider-Man TAS.

I think pretty much everyone thought that

My fav outfit is still the white armani suit:

Hehe. That's an ironic picture to display your like for the white Armani, being that the caption reads "I don't like it one bit." :D

HA!

Actually that's Ock's thoughts there. He's thinking how he doesn't like the fact Spider-Man is dying, because he wants the pleasure of being the one to kill him himself.

I'm feeling nostalgic this evening.Looking at the villains we have seen so far in the Spider-Man movies.I have to say Sandman is one villain I never thought would be following in GG and Ock's shoes.

I was re-watching SM-2 last night, and I was thinking how much I'm going to miss the tentacled one in part 3.Despite the changes Raimi made to his character,he was still an awesome villain. He stole that movie, and left BIG shoes to fill for part 3.

Who is going to shake buildings?? Cause the ground to vibrate?? Build a machine of mass destruction?? Toss cars around like toys?? Drop old women off tall buildings?? Smash thru trains, destroy bank vaults,Smash Spider-Man into walls until chunks of debris rain down on innocent bystanders below?? Light a cigar, while multi tasking and looking badass???

Who will do these great things like this in Part 3?? Tell me! Sandman?? HA! Not likely.Topher Grace?? ROTFL!!!

We miss you already Ock.Thank you for being such a great and visually stunning villain.

sorry guys, I am a Doc Ock fan above all, but i won't shoot down sandman's presentation till i see it. As you know, sam raimi hasn't been one to follow the villian's history perfectly, so maybe things will be done to sandman's history to make him more intriguing.

we'll see.

I have no doubt his origin is going to be changed; but then again I can almost guarantee what that origin is going to be: ANOTHER OSCORP-related lab accident. We have already seen this done twice, and done well both times... so I'm not sure what a third visit to the table will bring us, interest-wise. I'd like to know how they are going to top that fusion-reaction accident; I really would. Is that possible, esp. for such a relatively bland character?

And while I admit the poster-art for movie 1 was not what it should have been, I'd also like to know how Sandman is going to top Ock's infamous poster-unveiling, which had 98% of people in the Spidey forums almost fan-gasmic with delight. There he was: on top of a clock-tower with the hands frozen at 12 [the hour of change], shrouded in a magnificent trenchcoat and giving us the sidelong evil eye, surrounded by absolutely COOL technical weapons. Dark glasses in place, ready to kick some serious ass. WOW

How can they make a guy in a green Freddy Krueger shirt anywhere near that mindblowing? This ought to be worth seeing. He has no weapons, no cool gear, no nothing. He has a green striped shirt! I mean, c'mon.

These questions are why many of us are like, "Uhhhhhh... how is this gonna work, exactly?"

All hail the reigning god of the laboratory; he will be very much missed.

[UNLESS WE GET A CAMEO!!!! Do I dare hope....?!]

we'll see.

The creators of the first movie improved (in my not-at-all-humble opinion) on the Green Goblin's origin in some ways (not his costume or personality, though), and the creators of the second movie improved Doc Octavius' equipment in 'Spider-Man 2' but completely bastardized his character in almost every way. The next movie has more creative input from the people who worked on the second film (but not John Dykstra, the special FX guy who made 'Spider-Man 2' even watchable). Considering the Sandman's motives for being in prison before he escaped and became one with the beach involved his girlfriend, and Sam Raimi and his wacky band of hacks have a strong penchant for idiotic, invasive and overdone romance, the Sandman's origin is likely to be bastardized in a similar fashion to Movie!Ock.

If Movie!Sandy stays true to his comic book inspiration (over the long term of the run) and "turns good" at the end of a fight scene, it won't be the least bit interesting, because they unforgivably did the same thing to Movie!Ock when that wasn't characteristic at all. They stole elements from both the Lizard's and the Sandman's personalities with 'Spider-Man 2,' and since there's every probability of them injecting as much shallow cheese into this movie as possible, I sincerely doubt there's anything they will choose to do with their version of the Sandman that will be an improvement.

:wolverine

I still don't think Sandman is the main course here. His unveiling was nothing short of mediocre, and while I don't remember GG's first appearance, I'm sure it had to be somewhere along the lines of Ock's public showcase. (Alright, maybe not, with that horrid mask and all, but still.)

I don't want Venom, and I certainly don't want to see another GG, but at this point I guess all I can do is sit and dream about cameos and a smattering of other villains (Electro?) to help Sandman along in the villain category. What if Hydroman were to show up and make Sandman muddy? I can just see Ock standing ontop a building sipping something that would likely fuel a jet and shaking his head with contempt.

"This is the best they could come up with to follow up an appearance by Doctor Octopus? Pathetic."

I don't think he's going to be the big gun either, I just dunno how they're expecting to generate excitement for a guy wearing a green striped jersey any of us could find at the local discount-mart.

I think Ock's presentation had a HUGE impact on how much he was anticipated; that poster really got people primed for the main course. What exciting thing could they do with Sandy? I can't think up a thing.

We could also roam into GG2-territory and speculate on how much excitement a suit of battle-armor everyone's going to hate is gonna generate... :) but I'll leave that for another day. The domestic-violence video awaits [school work...] Wheee!!!!

[and yes, I did like GG1's armor a lot and would not mind seeing a revamp of that. But I think we're going to get some gawdawful mishmash of high-tech and the goblin from "Legends." I feel it in my bones, I tell you.]

:/ I hate being the minority. But I know how films are killing barriers left and right and if they did that much cool stuff with Otto in the second one, i'm thinking they can pull off ALOT with sandman in the third.

I'm not a traitor, just an optimist.

How could anyone not get excited by this?? I wonder how many people went and got the poster of that too when it was released. What Spidey fan wouldn't want such magnificence on their wall??

Whereas this:

Is not exactly something I'm eager to have on my wall.

It's on my son's wall as we speak

Your son has excellent taste

That, and the poster of Spider-Man with Ock reflected in his eye,are the only two SM-2 posters I own,or care to own.I have more comic related Spidey posters than movie ones.
