World Doc Ock's lair

Here's my contribution. An awesome pic of movie Ock owning Spidey. Sorry if anyone's already posted this.

docownsspidey5ib.jpg

Man Doc looks real threatening in that picture, with Spidey upside down like that and that spike coming out of his tentacle.

Any Ock contributions are always welcome tom

And that is one sweet pic.Ock looks so sinister there.Poor Spidey is battered and torn, between the clock tower and train fight to this.

Ock: "Let's see you scurry out of this"

Anyone notice that the electrical cable Spidey webs up to electrocute Ock is absent from the floor below him in that pic.I notice these little things ;)

You know what bothered me about Spider-Man 2... When Spidey and Doc Ock were fighting Spidey was winning it seemed like... as in the comics Spidey could never lay a hand on Doc Ock.

Here's a neat picture of Doc Ock sporting his classic duds... I am not sure if it is his first costume.

Spider-Man should have been kept at arms length more,if you'll pardon the pun.I have read Spider-Man comics where Spidey wouldn't manage to lay a finger on Ock until the very end.

Ock's tentacles kept him at bay all the time.Heck I've seen Ock carrying out sinister experiments, while at the same time fighting Spider-Man.

I love when he multi tasks.

That was actually his fourth costume would you believe. The green and orange spandex look first debuted in ASM#32,the Master Planner storyline.

His first was a white outfit seen here:

spideyock.gif

His second costume was like that except it was all green. His third was again like that except it was purple.

I wasn't sure which his first costume was...

Thanks for the info.

It still angers me that we had the scene all set up, and then we did NOT get to see Ock b*tch-slap Spidey. No, we get Franco slapping Peter... not the same thing at all. Harry did not have the weight of personality or the authority to give the slaps the proper disdainful ring they should have had. It was like watching a kid slap a playmate at daycare recess.

Ock was old enough and powerful enough to make them sting, both physically and because of embarrassment... how would it feel to have someone as powerful as that treat you so contemptuously? I imagine, not too good.

If I were Spidey I'd rather he'd made a stab with the spike - at least that would show he took me a LITTLE seriously.

And as for this Xmas artwork.... what can I say? Was the artist on peyote that day!? Norman?! Delivering any gift other than a fruitcake....? Ock? What, is the bag full of nuclear waste?! Is Kraven delivering small rabid animals? Wow, I'm speechless at the spectacle of Electro re-creating the Star of Bethlehem..... LMAO..... what the hell?!

Ok here are some scans from Spider-Man Unlimited #18.This is right after Ock's ressurrection arc, where he and Carolyn are hiding out in his Master Planner lair after having a public battle with Spider-Man.

Ock is reading the headlines of his return, his mind is still a little hazy and recovering from his ressurrection:

OckC1.jpg

OckC2.jpg

It's nice to see he hasn't lost the old Octavius charm.

Never let it be said that Ock doesn't appreciate his ladies.Regardless of how he uses them. And so he and Carolyn take a little trip down memory lane into Ock's dark past:

OckCarolyn2.jpg

We learn how Carolyn and Octavius first met.Talk about worshipping your idol.Just look at that adoring face getting his autograph:

OckCarolyn3.jpg

And her devotion did not die, even after her idol became a muderous super villain.Carolyn was there for Ock's first trial, where his defence lawyer was a certain Matt Murdock:

OckCarolyn5.jpg

All alone in prison after trying to drown New York in radiation.Or was he?? Octavius recieved visits from his ever devoted female admirer:

OckCarolyn6.jpg

OckCarolyn7.jpg

And Octavius really did put those criminal contacts to good use,as he gathered the best super villain team ever-The Sinister Six:

OckCarolyn8.jpg

This panel I really like. Both Ock and Carolyn comment how prison never holds Ock for long. Why do they even bother incarcerating him at all???

OckCarolyn9.jpg

OckCarolyn10.jpg

OckCarolyn11.jpg

Nice display of temper there from Ock.Perhaps this trip down memory lane was not such a good idea after all :)

I don't want to scan too much more as we don't want to upset Marvel now do we?? That would not do at all.

But I gotta say this issue is just fantastic.Re-living some of Ock's past glories with Carolyn by his side. She crawls up his ass for the whole issue with her compliments.

Of course Ock laps it all up ;)

Screw Marvel! They've upset (or just down right pissed off) us enough times as of late! GRRRRR

P.S. Oh yeah, nice scans matey. I enjoyed reading Otto's little walk down memory lane.

I know,I was being sarcastic ;)

Why do you think I have dropped all titles until this 'Other' ridiculousness is over???

Ock's return after it better be good.Marvel are skating on thin ice as it is

Thanks.

There's more, alot more. But like I said we must play nice for Marvel :down

Thank you so much for these excellent scans, Ock, I am eternally grateful. Now I'm going to have to have this book for sure.

I think were something like this to happen IRL, someone like Ock would almost certainly be killed in the name of the public welfare. Yet... I don't know. Scientists WOULD be most interested in seeing if they could unravel him, so to speak.

We can see here Ock has a healthy quotient of the arrogance and volatility necessary to any truly great villain; I like that about him.

As for upsetting Marvel, I give that concept my best villainous sneer. [That takes a lot of practice, I find...lol] if only they were one scintilla as concerned about not upsetting US.

My pleasure :)

I strongly recommend this comic. The chemistry between Ock and Carolyn is good.God does she worship him.Her devotion may even rival Silver S' ;)

Ock has the best temper. It's why I love it when Spidey mocks him.Ock just loses it altogether. He hates being mocked.

I think several of Spidey's villains would be put to death IRL.Kasady for definite. But then we'd be losing great villains....

You symbiote fans have the biggest right of all to hate Marvel right now.

Seriously.

 lovely scans. I read them all. I love the refined articulation of his limbs to picking up the match and taking it out. Rock on.

You're not the only one dude. I'm not 'supporting' this tripe Marvel keep trying to shovel down our throats. Sooner JMS & Hudlin are off of ANY & ALL Spidey titles the better IMO. Role on David's run on FNSM I say.

Again, as I said earlier, screw Marvel.

Now...where be me scanner...

DocOck12.jpg

No Ock! It's a trap! Ah bugger...too late.

DocOck11.jpg

Even when he's tied down to a bed, Otto's not so helpless. Carlyle obviously didn't do his homework enough on the ol' Doc.

DocOck10.jpg

Bwahahaha! I love this. Most peoples reactions would be the same I'd imagine if they where looking out the window & an old man in green spandex & 4 metal arms crawled past. Hahaha :D

DocOck09.jpg

Oh you heartless, crafty bastard Otto. Don't ever change.

OY! Less of the old man  Vulture is an old man.Ock is a middle aged man. That white hair thing they gave him in that arc was ridiculous.Ock is not that old  ;)

Another thing JMS did in that arc that bugged me was that bit there of saving the civilians. He has no problem drowning a whole city of people in radiation,or trying to blow them up.But he'll stop and save a few people under some falling debris???

Pfffftttttt.

Ok,now that my geeky rant is over,I must say those are some sweet scans.Especially the one where he calls his tentacles to him.Even with his tentacles in a steel box,and being weak and drugged,Ock still manages to command his arms.

What a guy. What a powerful mind. How can anyone not admire him?

That bit of leaving Spider-Man to die is pure Ock."You are not a civilian.Good bye".LOL! You bastard Ock :D

Awesome scans uk.Much appreciated

Hehe. Sorry dude, but being only 20, anyone over the age of 40 is 'old' to me. :p

Yeah, I didn't like that much either to be honest. Doc's behaiving more like Venom in that scene. Doc would just leave the building crush the poor buggers. Like you said, he has no problem trying to wipe out a whole city, so what's a few people in a hotel?

No problemo. Glad to do them. I don't have that many Doc Ock comics so I'm starting to run out now. Venom on the other hand... :venom:

That Carlyle arc is one of my favorite Ock appearances ever; it's hilarious. What's that about age and cunning always triumphing over youth and skill? Hahaha.

And I don't regard him as "old" at all; "old" is the Vulture or that Smythe guy - people like that.

Ock, next time some maroon hits you with how Octavius was a "nice guy" pre-accident, you just feel free to hit them with this:

There’s a very old, and very bad joke about the child who looks out the window of an airplane and says, Wow. We’re so high up the people look like ants. Whereupon his sister looks out the same window and says, We haven’t even taken off, stupid. Those are ants.

Doctor Otto Octavius was not the kind of man who appreciated humor of any kind, unless it was the special kind of hilarity he always derived from terrified people fleeing in the face of his superior might. But ever since childhood, he’d always treasured that little two-liner, in much the same way a zen philosopher might treasure a particularly profound koan. It spoke to the attitude he’d always harbored toward the rest of humanity, even before the acquisition of his wondrous mechanical arms: that wherever he stood in life, whatever ambitions he might choose to pursue, or whatever means he might use to pursue them, he was always so far above the great mewling mass of the species, just by virtue of his own advanced intellect alone, that it was impossible not to regard them as ants infesting a world rightfully his. – Castro

I think that really sums up the situation rather well.

I really do have to go study, I have a final Thurs. and then one Fri. I am beyond ready for the entire mess to be over with. Sick of looking at the material....

I just hope a 40 year old MOD reads that :p :D

Yes,exactly.Venom might do that.Not Ock.

Don't try and make Ock moral.Like at the end of SM-2,it just doesn't work. He's not a nice guy.So let's not try and portray him that way.

It's like making Hannibal Lecter a vegeterian.

No problemo. Glad to do them. I don't have that many Doc Ock comics so I'm starting to run out now. Venom on the other hand... :venom:

Well I am trying to remedy your Ock situation ;)

But I am in the same boat with Venom.Max Carnage and V vs C is all the Venom material I own :O

Carlyle learned the hard way.Don't ever steal from Doc Ock.You don't swipe his pocket change, let alone his precious tentacles.

Oh wow that's awesome. Thanks Sym *right clicks and saves*

Castro is the man.He knows Ock so well.Heck he knows all of the Six really well.I bow to his awesomeness of writing.I really do.

We need this guy on the Spidey movies.Seriously.

Ock seeing humanity as ants, little insects. How true. The world is rightfully his??? You betcha. And he's made a try for it several times.

I really do have to go study, I have a final Thurs. and then one Fri. I am beyond ready for the entire mess to be over with. Sick of looking at the material....

Good luck with the finals.

I bet you'll ace them like the others :)

The scanning fest continues.Really these scans light up the fan threads. They really do.

Ok here we go.First off we have a nice little panel of Peter giving his thoughts on Ock.As you can imagine,he doesn't have anything nice to say about him:

PeterOck.jpg

Which is why Spidey was less than thrilled, when Ock,fresh from the dead, made a dramatic entrance to the stunned wall crawler:

Ockreturns.jpg

And finally,I scanned a nice little pic of Spidey relected in Ock's glasses. The Marvel artists seem fond of this.Drawing Spidey ensnared in Ock's tentacles, and it being reflected in Ock's shades:

Spideyreflect.jpg

..... must.... study.... must understand... the difference between anticholinergics and antipsychotics.... *brain goes blank*.... more coffee... studying... good....

Awww.... **** it.... time to repost this silly art. :)

http://pic3.picturetrail.com/VOL17/812957/5809649/121061517.jpg

Moral of the story: artwork on cruddy paper is always, always a bad idea. [Both versions are still up in there, for those one or two interested in seeing what I changed.]

We need this guy [Castro] on the Spidey movies.Seriously.

Absolutely. I don't know why he's not there already - of all the writers I've seen handling this material, he is one of a handful who not only "get" Spidey, but also his villains. That's why I don't like that Peter David guy's novels: he has no clue as to what makes villains tick. We need a good representation of both sides of the story.

He's already plainly stated exactly where those scans came from in his original post, just as I clearly stated where my Ravencroft scan came from in my Carnage thread the other day. It's right there if you would take ten seconds to actually read the post, instead of looking at the pictures and then asking people to repeat themselves. I know that sounds a bit short,
its like people are having a conversation and you keep breaking in asking for special explaination, because you cannot be bothered to pay attention. Sheesh, it's right there in plain English.
