just downloaded 97-99 (just in case somebody's gona hava go at me -- i support the comic industry in other ways -- namely independents -- tho nobody buy "the last chistmas" -- the first issue was the worst comic i have EVER read. EVER) and WOW. i mean WOW, love the story. the characters are cool, she's wearing my fave spidey costume. its so cool, just a shame sucha story wont happen with spidey -- i want kaine and hobbie to return to AMSM and i doubt they will ina while but yeah good book. i might actually buy the last issue. that way i hava print of the 1st and last issue of spider-girl (vol 1) and it'll go nicely in my spidey collection

Read # 99 last night. This has been a really great story and a fitting return for Roderick Kingsley.

However, I heavily am in agreement with Captain Stacy. It would have given Hobby's return a hell of a lot more weight if he'd killed Raptor, Buzz, and Ladyhawk's. And killed his brother as well.

Damn, I'm rather morbid...but that's just what I feel Hobgoblin would do.

But, oh man...May is in some SERIOUS trouble. I have a feeling the symbiote may come into play with this.

I'm also hoping that when Pete puts the Spider-Man suit back on again that he doesn't bite the big one either. Because I see a Hobgoblin vs. Spider-Man rematch in # 100.

Defalco and company are REALLY delivering for this road into the finale.

yeah im sick of hearin petes past it. hobby's been imprisoned (and previously outa the game) for years longer than pete, so despite his leg he shud b able to put up a good fight. then again the title is "spider-girl" not "spider-man" so i think i know which way this'll go...

The only real complaint I have so far about Hobgoblin is that instead of using pumpkin bombs, he's using silver-colored version of those crappy bombs from the Spider-man movies. Take away from the visual of the character. Besides, the whole silver-colored round ball thing was more like Jack-O'Lantern's style, and he was a crappy ripoff of the goblins (disc vs. glider, round balls vs. pumpkin bombs, wrist guns vs. finger sparklers)

Exactly. This is like our version of th' modern day and Spidey was actually doin' his stuff back in th' 70s, 80s and maybe 90s. I forget th' term used fer fudgin' a timeline like that...used it a lot when people didn't get that's what they did fer th' Ghostbusters comics, pushin' events of th' movie up 20 years.

Yeah, the Scriers wanted to take out SG, and they figured they'd start by taking out her support network. Normie is a big, juicy "extra" for Roderick, so he wanted to take some extra time with him too.

Supposedly Normie has the symbiote under control, but it acts on its own sometimes.

Back in #79, Normie got dunked in some goblin goo by a girl that Norman Senior had picked out to be Normie's "bride" when he became older. She was to make sure that young Normie took over the Goblin criminal empire in Europe. She's been exposed to the goblin goo too, and calls herself, "Fury the Goblin Queen". (This was a couple of years ago so this came before the Hobgoblin 2099 in the 616 Spidey comic.)

Anyway, Spider-Girl rescued him, but not before the formula gave him a bad attitude. It still remains to be seen just how much of an influence the goblin goo had on him. But anyway, he's been bonded to the symbiote and Phil Urich is the new Green Goblin. Phil's got some updated gear that Normie gave him like an updated exo-suit and stuff.

y does everybody turn to doc strange for something out of the ordinary? writers rarely do that. and isnt doc strange no longer the premier mystic-guy in town?

For issue 100 they better not say that the Scrier missed any vital organs. That would be a copout and that excuse was used in issue 79 with the goblinette.

In issue 99 I was a little disapointed that no one had died from the Hobgoblin's attack. It just doesn't fit the goblins character to let them all survive. He either would've killed one or all of them for sure.

One of the few complaints I have with the book is that the comics can be a little too "all ages" in that not enough bad things happen to the characters. Spider-Girl hasn't had near the trajedies her father had.

Anyway, excited about issue 100. Could this surprise announcement be a relaunch? Sounds like it. I'd prefer a 101, but if a relaunch is the only option...

i think thats y i quit in the twenties/thirties -- cos the supporting cast didnt seem to give any edge to the book. did May hook up with Black Tarantula? yknow... romantically? thats the kinda edge i was lookin for before

spider-man or normie so dies. i reckon normie gives the sybiote to May to heal her and then dies saving spider-man from a Goblin - how ironic. They've set him up for a tragedy by marrying him off in the last ish.


And if pete dies it'll be along the lines of cap dying in last hero standing - there is ben parker and they'll use that to make some shpeel about the legacy living on with his children.
