Except for some of his 80's Spider-man stuff, I've found DeFalco's writing to be atrocious (ex: most of the MC2 line, ESPECIALLY Fantastic Four). I've been reading the Hobgoblin arc here and... it's good? With the exception of the Normie/Raptor interaction and maybe 3 lines of dialogue from Hobby, it's actually been... good. Hobgoblin has actually been intelligent and dangerous, with and without the Scriers, one of the holdovers from the Clone Sage, which I've always hated.
I never thought I'd say this, but... Marvel needs to look to Spider-girl for how to do Spider-man now. They also need to get a clue that the current GG sucks and that all attempts at revamping his costume doesn't work, and neither does Norman himself. The Hobgoblin, on the otherhand, works QUITE well as shown by this arc.
