Hehe that happens. Wondered why ya wasn't in there.

I guess I didn't say anything interesting. He got the Web site in there, which is probably the most important thing to me.

So Jarkoer got himself mentioned in Wizard. Congrats.

Thanks. It was all short notice. There were about six of us who interviewed. Don't know why he chose me.

Actually I got Jarkoer mentioned in Wizard. The reporter interviewed me first, and I said make sure you talk to this guy, too. And then he didn't use any of my quotes. :(

Sorry about that. I feel a little guilty because I've never had much interest in the mass media. (Over the past summer out of about ... 140 letters to 60 papers and mags, not one of them answered me back.) Well ... at least you got interviewed for two newspaper articles this year, Maquiavelo2099 interviewed for several online sites, and Spideydude got himself a podcast on the Spider-Man Crawl Space.

But I wrote one more letter recently. I don't know what's going to happen with that, but if it works out a lot of people are going to like it. :yay:

I've noticed that they've been using the classic "Amazing Spider-Man" logo for Amazing Spider-Girl. Rather ironic in a certain respect.

The logo looks so perfect for Spider-Girl. I got a real jolt the first time I saw it.

Congrats on being mentioned in the Wizard article. I finally got a chance to read it last week.

So far The Amazing Spider-Girl has been living up to my expectations and lets hope that this title goes another 100 issues.

The second issue was a LOT better than the first one.

It's one of the BEST Marvel comics that nobody's reading.

:csad:

I prefer the jagged logo. That's the best Spidey logo. **** the "classic" and the current one. They're ****.

What was the Wizard article about? :O

It was about how Spider-Girl survived all the cancellations through a rabid fanbase.

We can't say nobody anymore. The first issue sold 47,304 and was No. 35 on the October list. Plus, the zero issue was No. 70 and sold 27,239 issues -- better than Runaways for the month. I think we can expect to see Amazing Spider-Girl level off in the mid-30,000s, which should keep cancellation at bay.

So a better way to phrase it is "one of the BEST Marvel comics that NOT ENOUGH people are reading."

So we still have to win more fans for Mayday, but I think we've got a lot more breathing room than we've ever had.

Who, us? Rabid? :woot: (too bad we can't get that smiley to foam at the mouth).

I disliked the jagged logo when it was introduced in the '90s because it didn't fit Spider-Man. It was a worse fit for Spider-Girl, so seeing her sporting the 1970s "Amazing" logo is a super kick for me.

That's great... I saw the index for the month, but couldn't figure out what that meant sales numbers wise...

I keep trying to get my long-time male friends to buy the book (some of them have young daughters), but they think it's not "gritty" enough, which makes me laugh at them...

Unless it's Brubaker or some other flavour of the month creator doing a comic, it can't be good... :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

But I keep trying....

:yay:

Seeing the old Amazing Logo brings a tear to my eye...

I love it. :word:  :word:

I suppose you've used the "Here's a book you can read with your young daughter" angle.
