Doom Patrol Doom Patrol - Season 1 Discussion

So both Doom Patrol and Titans season one ends by teasing a character for the next season. In Doom Patrol it's Dorothy Spinner and in Titans it's Superboy.

Also, probably reaching here. But that moment between Ezekiel and Admiral Whiskers reminded me of this moment between The Brain and Monsieur Mallah from the Grant Morrison run.

Just watched the last episode.

Some questions:

1- First continuity error? They performed the experiment on Jane in 1976, not 1977. Or maybe, Agent Charles Forsythe asked for Caulder's consent months later they had performed the procedure on Jane, despite Caulder would haven't approved it yet? If so, Forsythe fooled Caulder in the New Year Eve 1977 sequence..
.
2- I don't undertstand it. How Mr. Nobody managed to acquire his 4th Wall power back (narration) and how he made Ezekiel and Whiskers "get along" as Dad and son?

3- How did Cliff know that he needed to get inside Ezekiel?

4- What did truly happen at the end? The Negative Spirit created a dimensional barrier...??? And why did it require Larry's radiation to "explode" into the reality? I'm confused as hell. VERY confused.

For number 2. I also don't understand why his narration powers went away at all. but it was his powers of narration that made Ezekiel and Whiskers get along.

Number 3. I don't think Cliff knew he had to go inside Ezekiel he was just trying to get out of Whiskers and at the same moment he was falling into Ezekiel's mouth.

Nice answers, thank you.

By the way:

Why was Ezekiel small when they all left the "Painting Dimension"? Larry was normal-sized. Maybe Dorothy's effect had worn off at that point? Because she was the one who enlarged Ezekiel and Whispers...
(It looks like TV Dorothy Spinner can alter reality even more than Mr. Nobody or Flex)

The plan was to get inside Ezekiel to survive the radiation blast all along, Cliff being eaten by Whiskers wasn't part of it so he had to escape one and enter the other, that's why Nobody made them kiss, to make that easier.

That part was simple, I feel that there are other parts that were left vague or unanswered, I just can't quite put my finger on them (then again, I binged most of the season except for the last 2 episodes, which I had to pause repeatedly and watch a few minutes at the time).

Was it ever answered how Caulder doesn't age?? (I haven't read the comics yet)

I think that in Season 2 they will show what the Chief did in 1940s and how he did achieve longevity and slowed down aging.
I'm sure they will also show how he recruited the original Doom Patrol.

Thanks, I was afraid I missed something actually shown on screen.

Well, don't forget he's not immortal or invulnerable. He just achieved longevity and slowed down aging. That's why he created the second Doom Patrol, he needs more than that to protect Dorothy.
Ironically, it was the second Doom Patrol to protect Dorothy... literally.

Think about it.
No Season 2.
STILL, there's already a terrific closure to the series. They just saved the most powerful being on planet Earth, Dorothy Spinner. She can change the world. It's the dawn of a new era for humankind.
And they will be enlarged by Dorothy anyway...
God, this series is the best.

I prefer Swamp Thing so far, but ugh, together they are probably the two best live-action DC shows to date, so OF COURSE WB would cancel them. Can't let our brand quality go beyond CW-level! Then people would notice how half-assed we've done everything else!

He’s the same guy from GWW or whatever it was called so I wouldn’t pay too much attention to it.

Just Seen This Giving Up Waiting For It Coming To Netflix In The UK Away To Go Find Somewhere To Watch It

Will Swamp Thing be available on Netflix in other regions?

Previously there was no word on Swamp Thing coming to Netflix. With the series being canceled already we doubt any network will be picking up Swamp Thing.

What about the rest of the DC Universe titles?
The sister show to Titans and Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol is our biggest indication that Netflix won’t be receiving any further DC Universe related content. This may be confusing considering Titans as the first ‘Original’ show on DC Universe is a Netflix Original in select regions. We knew that Titans was going to be on Netflix before the first episode aired in the US, whereas Doom Patrol has aired all of Season 1 but there is still no word on where the show will air outside of the US.

From the information we have of the UK licensing, 4 of the 5 DC Universe series are still unsold. Which means Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Harley Quinn, and Young Justice is up for grabs. We do know that Doom Patrol has recently been acquired by HBO Europe but it’s unclear what it means for the UK.

I just rewatched Episode 15.
The final shot with Negative Man and the scorching sun behind him was so creepy and intriguing, that entire sequence was truly amazing and wonderful.
Just one of the best TV endings ever.
This show is a masterpiece. Hopefully they will deliver a second season.

In surprised they’re releasing it so soon and not waiting a while to push for more subscribers like Netflix usually does, tbh.

Seems like the normal allotted time between the last episode and home video release. I think Titans had a similar gap? That one is due to release soon.
