LOLOL :woot: You are bad.

But actually Bulgaria airs "Hannibal" via AXN channel which is one of the international distributors or something to this extent, I believe? Maybe it was leaked by somebody from AXN? Don't know. Hopefully we hear a confirmation soon.

Yeah it's on AXN.

NBC has another promising show coming out in the fall, Blacklist. If that turns out to be good and yet falls into the same quagmire as this I'll be unhappy. NBC, the channel that sponsors great programming it then hands off to other more competent people.....

The idea that this season ends on a cliffhanger and the show being totally in limbo right now makes me want to throw up. I cannot deal with not knowing if there's a 2nd season.

Jesus, you people are overdramatic... I know it sucks, but my God, it's like someone is holding one of your family members hostage. :o

Damn it Sawyer that's what it feels like! How would you have felt if this had happened during season 4 of Lost or something? This ain't no damn game! This is real life son!

They should end the season with Hannibal getting caught and arrested. If it gets picked up for season 2 then they'll have a trial right away and him getting locked up with the agent visiting him to help him with cases until he retires leading to "Red Dragon."

They're supposedly having the Verger siblings next season.

Now they just need to rehire Gary Oldman and all will be good in the world.

Is it that nobody here gets cable television and only the basic channels? Deadline's already confirmed - interest's been shown, there's already a season 2, the only thing undecided is NBC or go on without NBC.

I don't understand why everybody is so excited about it possibly switching channels. That stuff doesn't happen too often. Cougar Town, Southland and Damages are some of the only recent shows I can think of another station picked up. Oh and Torchwood. Starz showed interest in Caprica and Flashforward but nothing happened. I'd feel a lot better if the NBC just renews it because if they do let it go I'm still gonna be worried that things are gonna fall through or that we will have to waitrill 2015 to see the next season.

Because DEADLINE already announced that channels were interested. So "doesn't happen often." Well, DEADLINE already confirmed that some channels were. They wouldn't just say something without anything to back it up. So the news is already floating around between the channels and the creators of the show and they picked it up from some legit inside source. Talks are happening. This isn't a random blogger saying it, it's one of the most respected Hollywood news sources that industries check. Why not say the specific channel/s? The channel/s at-be wouldn't want their name attached until it's official because otherwise it would be that channel/s showing interest then losing it to another - bad business. What can we take from this? Interest is already there, this source wouldn't say anything if it wasn't. There are talks taking place. It's NOT an NBC show, it's a show by a different company not affiliated with NBC in no way shape or form other than distribution. So that company is seeking other alternatives, is having talks, which Deadline probably picked up on and details won't become available until they're relevant. It's not NBC giving one of their shows away. Or DEADLINE being a fan and saying what fans would. It's a different company trying to work around what NBC might do. So most likely there are talks. Everybody in the industry uses that site, they need to remain professional and fact-driven (not fan driven).

Also these reporters? Typically even know about things before the Vice Presidents at some high-high-high companies do. So they know what they're talking about and have sources directly to the top. So why am I excited? Season 2 is guaranteed. There are talks. NBC is clearly not the end, otherwise they wouldn't have said anything. Why would they? They have to remain one of the top trusted among industry professionals, so they can't conjecture on these things.

Interest in no way equals a guarantee.

The only way it won't be a guarantee is if NBC holds onto it too long. THAT is why NBC will hopefully drop it. The longer NBC holds onto it, the less time they'll have to set everything up and the more these stations will have to look elsewhere and sign other contracts.

The scenario that we should be dreading -- NBC lets go of it too late, all the stations although they wanted it (as they've already been in talks - why go into talks if something isn't wanted, there's no reason to at all... you don't go into talks unless you're more than semi-serious about it) can't anymore due to the timing. THAT is my feared and the only most likely possible "bad case scenario."

You've all already noticed what's going on is strange. nbc schedule fall and mid are filled for a reason. there's more complicated matters here than pick up or not pick up that isn't in the papers. it's not strange, it's just not public. most likely nbc is not picking it up and it's a money thing otherwise why fill out their schedule?

also maybe..

They're holding out, hoping that NBC changes their minds for summer (only spot left). That information leaked out to try to sway NBC to hold onto it, likely from somebody behind the show to reveal to the network the kind of response it would get. NBC is holding onto their guns and not letting it maneuver, this has happened before with other projects both film and television related. Reason to hold on - more money, more audience members. It's almost like a really bizarre business hostage scenario on both sides. Hopefully they let go in time to join up with the interested parties. I've never understood why companies have done this, but I've heard stories about this and seen it happen before. What's going on really sounds typical of that scenario.

No he wouldn't. This would be Mason verger before his little "incident" remember?

As I said, Statz said they were interested in Flashforward. Where'd that go? All I'm saying is that until it's confirmed nothing is garaunteed. You don't have to get so defensive. I know full well what Deadline is and I know full well the circumstances surrounding everything and the implications of what I said. I will feel better if it just gets renewed cuz then we will know for a fact. Season 2 is not a fact right now.

Yeah, I really believe at this point all this mess is about one of these two reasons:

1) They don't want to announce yet that they WON'T renew it, in fear of audiences losing interest in watching the rest of the episodes (and they need viewers)

2) It's a weird, sadist marketing trick of NBC and the "Hannibal" creators (who I presume already know it will be renewed, but pretend otherwise), in order to get attention from audiences and media.
