Dr. Lecter Invites you to Dinner. The ''Hannibal'' Thread - Part 2

I got CHILLS the first time they showed Beverly. Next week is going to be SO good!

I'll admit to expressing some audible notes of surprise when the camera panned around. Damn! Hannibal sure is imaginative.

If I have one complaint, it's that I wish they'd have introduced the orderly earlier. I feel like the twist would have had more impact if he'd of been a regular, even just in the background doing odd jobs. It was still unexpected, just not what it could have been.

(unless he has been around all season and I've completely ignored him...)

I kept wondering how Hannibal cut Beverly up and kept everything in place while he put the slices in the glass. Leave it to this show to explain in detail. The writing staff is imaginative as **** with these kills. It puts typical procedurals to shame.

Me, at the beginning of the episode: "Hannibal, you ****ed up mofo, I hope you pay for this one."

Me, at the end: "Well damn..." :awesome:
I've heard this may get cancelled. What's the chances of another network picking this up?

Eh. We were saying the same things this time last year. I'm not jumping to any conclusions about it's fate.

He's sort of been in the background the whole time. I remember recognizing the actor in the season premiere.

Ok please, somebody tell me this wasn't inspired by Tarsem Singh's The Cell. Which in actuality the specific scene in question was inspired by the artwork of Damian Hirst. Man! I can't ****ing believe he did that to Beverly! Just like the horse in The Cell! God damn I love this show!!!

Thanks! I am delighted to stand corrected. I will be sure to pay more attention when I watch it through a second time, this sneaky show.

What the heck was the first thing Hannibal said as he was hanging? Was it in another language? Half the time I can't understand what Mads is saying. :(

He was in the first episode of the season as well.

EDIT: As I see has already been pointed out. But yeah, they were pretty subtle about it.

What Hannibal did to Bev was b-r-u-t-a-l as that camera panned to the rest of her. I guess Hannibal was sending Will a message, if so I think it was received.

Hannibal probably wasn't anticipating Will putting out a hit on him, though. :lmao:

I like how offended Hannibal seems in the promo about Will trying to wack him. It's like dude, what do you expect?

I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment in regards to the whole copyright/whatever thing over Clarice, plus the question of whether the show will even be around long enough to bring her into the fold, but I've been thinking about who I'd want to see cast in the role. It has to really be someone who can pull their own weight. It's not just a new castmember, it's really a new lead character. This has to be someone on Dancy/Mikkelson level. I have two ideas. The first, while being someone who I'm unsure whether or not she could pull off something so heavily dramatic, has proven herself to be a very talented young actress over the past few years. The second has had an iffy career on film but has really shown off her skill on her television series, specifically recently, so much so that I can get over her not necessarily having the look I'd imagine for the character. The first is Anna Kendrick and the second is Emmy Rossum.

He called her rude back in Season 1 too, when she was alone with him in his office.

I feel like everyone on the show values Freddy too much as a convenient plot device to kill her no matter how much they probably all despise her.

What you think about Kate Mara? I would like her in that role if it gets that far.

I'd be into that.

Kate Mara sounds good to me. She has more of that Virginia country girl vibe about her that fits Clarice to me.

I think either would be great, but I also think neither would be available. Kate Mara does seem like a more realistic (and good) option.

And just to throw another name on the pile, what about Rose Byrne? She mostly does movies but she had a pretty good run on Damages.

Matthew McConaughey can play Clarence Starling.

Kendrick maybe, but by the time they roll around to Silence of the Lambs, I can see the possibility of Shameless having already ended it's run. Then again, that's Showtime and they like to drag their **** out as long as possible, so that could easily go to, like, ten seasons. :o

Byrne's good, but I think she'd be a bit too old for the part by then. She'll be in her late 30s when/if they reach that part of the story.
